Indoor mapping seems to be really weak. The outdoor stuff with the car looks cool

Yay! Welcome back sir! I've missed your sextastic cliffs~ Your NW RMFs blow my mind~
Oh and I agree that the first DarkTruths shot is not on par with the rest.
-
Well considering the fact that this is already the third time I've seen this happen, the first time being my first map, I would say it has to be quite common.

Mmmm very nightwatchy Campaignjunkie~

Hmmm I've seen a few of these earlier. Most of them failed due to proper structure/leadership. Your project, on the other hand, seems to be working well.
Yah it's a pretty cool idea, but I don't really find it very rewarding, especially due to the lack of time I have these days. I believe it's very good practise for beginners as ya said and you've already managed to get some super talent onboard. So good luck with it

Si: Is there a similar game to yours and how do you judge your game comparing to others of that type?
Dominik Zielinski: I would like to compare it to Half Life 2. That game had a great story and game play. Some of our features like realistic water or Newton physics are similar to HL2. Mortyr and Return to Castle Wolfenstein are also the World War 2 reality but our game is more historical and realistic. There is no science-fiction like: time travels, fighting zombies or meeting aliens.
Si: The graphics are pretty cool, what are the system requirements?
Dominik Zielinski: The game engine is very efficient which allows game to run quite good on Pentium III - 700 Mhz. You will need Pentium IV 2,4 Ghz to run the game smoothly with all details turned on.

Now that's what I call professional~

13, 17, and 19 are evil~

The thing is that a mod leader needs to have good knowledge in at least something in order to gain credibility. The other option would be to aquire knowledge in mod creation by being a part of a existing mod community, becoming a playtester, etc. Either way, it's a long process.

Lovely photos.
What about EOS 350D as in Digital Rebel XT?
-
Just turn your resolution to something like 800 x 600 and lower all texture detail settings and you'll be able to compare the specs a tad better.
-
Awesome!~

I hate the repetiveness of HL2 water, the fact that it leaves an ugly shoreline border without waves and that it looks like a giant rectangle breaking the illusion of a never ending sea.
-
Looking great as always sir~

A mapping lecture?~
-
No seriously, I have zero modeling experience, I'm weak at texturing and I don't see my future career in the gaming industry.
Blaz, on the other hand, has all the talent, knowledge and passion required.

Okie I'll be super honest here. None of the maps you've posted so far are good or impressive. I would say this map is the strongest, but it's far from interesting or good. Lighting is nonexistent, brushwork is plain and simple, texturing is basic, the theme is generic, etc...
You are young and you are proud of the stuff you've done so far. However, you need to realize the fact that they aren't any good on mapcore standards. Just because you have an article in the paper doesn't mean that you are good. Considering your age, I would say you have potential to become very good if you accept the fact that you have a lot to learn. Be modest, be realistic and you'll get better. Listen to what people have to say here.

You really need to work on your lighting. Do you know how to use textured lighting?
Read these:
http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Tu ... .php?id=52
http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Tu ... .php?id=48
http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Tu ... .php?id=51
Now this is pretty basic, but it's good stuff:
-
Your r_speeds should be more like 250 with the current detail.
-
The lighting is just uber wrong. You need adjust your angles and stuff. Right now the sun is directed at the sky or something. The skybox doesn't match the current lighting at all.

WIP in WIP, post your level screenshots!
