The most logical reasoning for this being that HL2 has no deathmatch mode at all. He did a noclip on the map in single-player where you attempt to teleport to Eli's lab, he found gman and killed him with an array of weaponry Ahhh ok, well same difference. How come they didn't make him immortal this time then? ...actually, don't answer that, it's most likely going to spoil the game.
