Pros: -I can pick my nose with my tounge. -IQ 72, so while I might appear dumb, I'm actually much dumber. Cons: -My nose tastes bad. -IQ 72, have you ever worried that hitting yourself with a hammer on the genitals might hurt? Nah, me neither. *THUD!*

Except for the 90 degree angle road turn it looks ok. Keep it up.

If he juggles three balls in one hand, how many balls would he juggle with two hands? Then compare to the two... balls you can juggle...

Don't think you will see GoldenEye, it's owned by MS.

There is a shitload scientists don't know or have reliable theories about, AND THATS HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO BE! It has always been this way and will always be. And when you get insecure and want answers where there are non you will make things up, or have someone make things up for you, that will make you feel better. That has also always been and will always be. And future generations will laugh at what the past generations thought was true. This also will be an eternal truth... until we inevitably become extinct. If the above scares you, then imagine that there is a greater purpose for this, and feel better. And Nexus, stop smoking that shit!

Oh great, make me feel bad about me being an ass why dont you Skjalg! Ok... sorry, didn't mean to imply youre stupid, I was just frustrated, my bad. I don't think there is a trend amongst scientists "going back"! And we have certainly NOT begun to understand that there are "things out there", what would give you such an idea?

Indeed safer: http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiap ... index.html A lot of "odd Islamic legal issues" gets attention these days. http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiap ... index.html

What do you mean we cant explain it? Listen, if you observe an electron "this way" it colapses to a particle and if you observe it "like that" it colapses into a wave because the observation contains enough energy to affect the electron. You know what, that the earth was round and not flat was friggin "bafffling" scientists... a long time ago! The double slit experiment is at least two hundered years old. The experiments described in the video was first performed in the seventies, so trust me, scientists are NOT baffled by this anymore. Geeez.

A cyclic universe, which I have mentioned in this thread, has everything to do with pre big bang, try again. So basically you answered my post without answering my question? Cool.
-
Except those mentioned in this thread, what important stuff is it that science cant explain you think? And most likely it is close to 99,9% on most basic stuff which is as good as it gets. If you study physics enough, there is this stage that begins with "Everything you have learned about physics so far, I want you to forget it."

....tell me Holeman, as a man who respects science, what do you think this new image means that we didnt "know" before?
-
Sorry Fletch, none of the links provided make it seem easier to revise a religion then it is to revise a scientific theory. Please try again. Photosynthesis is a theory, a very very well established theory, but so are evolution and radiocarbon dating and a surprising many refuses to believe in them. And as we all now, everything we base on observation, measurements and such are never 100% but may still be considered a fact when exact enough. The very image this thread is about has an error margin of at least 0.5% due to measurement discrepancies and such but it is still used as a scientific basis for verifying loads of cosmological theories because that is good enough, for those theories, other theories need to wait for even better observations. A scientific proof is never 100%, but to be fair, a scientific proof is more proof then any other proof we are aware of in existence.
-
A theory may always be revised or discarded, something that is harder to do with religion. Dont think this new image changes anything much though, the big issues like dark matter and dark energy needs solved... like now... damn lazy scientists!
-
No silly, its science and in science you do not know anything, you have a theory about it. Or so my theory goes anyway...

WMAP is still defining the boundaries of cosmology and the new CMB map confirmed inflation theory, nice. Wonder when they will launch a replacement for WMAP that will be able to confirm if the universe is cyclic or not? Will probably take a while if Bush stays where he is.

That was the feeling that came across for me, if that wasn't your intention then either it's poorly written or I suck at interpreting what you wrote, probably more of the latter then the former so my apologies.

That was a response to someone saying they wouldnt use nukes because it would be suicide. Irans president is a fan of the palestinian suicideattacks on Israel and wants to wipe it off the map. Suicide attacks come with extreme Islam, and Irans president and the mullahs are extreme or what? They have never condemned martyrs but only the opposite. Ok so you're saying that Iran is ruled by people who believe in "extreme" Islam and that's the reason they wouldn't hesitate to use nukes even if it meant their deaths? And I say that you might be right about them using nukes even if it means their death but that any focus on their religious beliefs or how they dress or what facial hair they prefer or what their skin color is like, is missing the real reason for being hostile against Israel or whatever you don't like about "them". Its not like Christians, Shintoists, Buddhists, Atheists or whatever haven't sacrificed themselves to kill enemies during history.

What I'm getting at is that the essay make it sound like Globalization is the best thing ever for prosperity but the natives are just too dumb to understand it. And I disagree with that view. If I can take the time I will post a more intelligent reponse.
-
You didn't write those silly numbers in your essay now did you? Let us be clear, and I don't give a flying fish who handed you the books, ONLY in developing countries are salaries from MC's usually higher then local wages, but no where near as much as above 40%. I thought you said they "helped build infrastructure around them for their workers' benefit", not that the possible benefit was a side effect for something built for the cooperation? Is someone setting out to be a lobbyist because that smelled like intention warping BS 101 to me? Interestingly the author does not agree with your conclusion that global companies are the road to world peace and global prosperity, and especially that there is "little argue against a multinational corporation entering a developing nation", in fact plenty are mentioned and one of the most important is the increasing gap between poor and rich due to Global Corporations investing in developing countries. [Chua] Something you have mentioned as a major reason for the existence of riots and terrorism if I'm not mistaken? Indeed. You seem to have missed the Yale law professors point and just took what suited the well established American theory that capitalism and democracy goes hand in hand and that globalization is the magical elixir for the developing countries. Too me it seemed biased, has your professor commented on it yet?

Gotta love Vegas. It was a bit slow, you gotta mix up it with some "action" parts as well.
-
BS, you give me a credible source of that because I've seen nothing of the sort, ever. Well except for top management.... You meant GlobalSight? ..Tech companies... ahhh, I thought you ment infrastructures as in roads and such but you meant data related infrastructures. Wee wipdy dooo! You put access to google in an African village and, zwoosh, you improved their infrastructure... that sickens me.. Where do you get you're information, the company websites?
-
Yeah, RD what where you trying to tell us with "Hmm i wonder what religion all those suicidebombers came from  "??
