  1. I never understood why it's so important to show off the wireframe shots with tesselation on. Isn't the whole point with it that it should be a pretty clear visual difference with it on?

    i think they just show those cause it looks cool and techy

  2. This game is everything I hoped it would be, a few chapters in and really enjoying it so far, possibly the 'coolest' game I've played for a while...the slow motion kill cams where you can slow time down even further while you continue to riddle the enemy full of bullets is awesome

    did i miss the release or something? it's out?

  3. Btw, OP... I just recently bought a new computer which can run pretty much any of the latest games at max settings. For less than $2000. If you want I'll post a list of what I bought. I think with the hardware you listed you're just throwing away money to be honest...

  4. DEATH TO NORMAL MAPS.

    I hope you're being sarcastic :P I can think of quite a few instances in which normal mapped detail would look better in a game engine compared to actual 3D geometry, especially for smaller details. I think rendering and lighting tech in video games still have a long way to go before this would make sense..

  5. Beautiful baby girl! Once again, congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance: So, have you thought of a name since last time we talked? :B

    This picture would suggest you are comparing your daughter to a pig

    wat

  6. Actually it's less bad for you than alcohol or cigs. :eng101:

    but still bad :eng101::eng101::eng101::eng101:

    Hehe... Well, lots of "normal" things could be considered bad. But it really depends on how you consume it.... smoking it obviously isn't good for you...not because it's weed but because you're inhaling smoke. There are other ways to consume it though, like eating, vaporizing etc. which are all pretty much harmless to your body. According to some recent studies even smoked cannabis does not cause any significant long-term damage to your lungs as the plant matter does not stick to your lungs the same way that tobacco residue does. There's a lot of bad stigma attached to cannabis but when you really look at scientific facts and research that has gone into the matter you will see that most of the negative things you have heard about it have probably long been proven false. :oscar: You can't even OD on it, no hangovers either. :celebrate:

  7. It is a very dramatic change really (with suppression). If you're moderately suppressed, your first three fired rounds will have the accuracy of the 8-10th rounds non-suppressed (guesstimation). I still haven't decided if it's for the better or worse. The bonus of the change is that it can give support a whole new role it didn't really have before, which is good.

    Whenever I get suppressed I go find cover and two seconds later I am fine again. I dunno, I don't think it's that bad. Just put your sunglasses on and deal with it. :cool:

    No, but seriously... according to an interview with DICE they are going to lower the suppression again in the next update. I forgot who they interviewed, I think the producer, and I don't have the exact quote but basically he said that "we knew where the min was before, now we know where the max is, so we are going to find a middle ground between the two".

    My god. The latest patch turned this game into a crock of shit. I believe the DICE moto is: Nerf everything, buff snipers.

    I think people often forget the complexity of balancing a game like Battlefield. I mean here is a game that you can play online with 64 players. Every bullet travels in real time, there are different classes....each with their own specialization, there are many different vehicles, even armored vehicles,...tanks, helicopters, freaking JETS and rocket launchers and somehow all of them have to be balanced while still retaining their own individual trademark feel that makes you say "yes, this is how an M4 should behave". On top of all that there are large open maps, tight close quarter maps, but the game needs to feel evenly balanced no matter which map you play. And it needs to appeal to all sorts of different play styles.

    I dare any company to try and get this perfectly right on the first try.
