Yes not bad, but still pretty bland . Understand it is only an hour's worth of work, but subway stations always have so much potential . Take a look at Sa7an's ND map, which I think is absolutely awesome . That's a good example of all that extra detail that can go in there. Also the ceiling looks a tad strange. Dunno, maybe its that big block sticking out.. skdr - looks secks, can't wait

Even though it is completely lacking in detail / textures, i'm really digging the potential of the lighting, and loving the varying height of the map. Would be cool to see the top levels opened up a bit more. Then again, I haven't played it yet , if I get the chance I'll have a run through and let you know my thoughts. Looks good so far though.

Minos I <3 you.. Ive just started to try speedpainting, and those tutorials will help a lot, not to mention you and peris work rox ~~

Yeah looks like a solid start. Just stumbled across your moddb page as well. Really impressed with those model sheets, I don't know if you did them. But yeah impressive

Hey Mate, First off welcome to Mapcore. Secondly I think your site is down, as images aren't working. Could you possibly upload them to something like imageshack or the like? And what uni do you go to? AIE since you are from melbourne? And lastly would be nice to know what technology you are working with

Same. Also really like how refreshing and clean it looks. Just needs some more detail imo, but no grunge.

Looks pretty sweet! Only suggestion (I know it is WIP) the tops of these buildings look a bit awkward. I can't remember if Mirrors Edge had the same building geometry, but I would probably just extend the building up beyond a little bit above that top window.

Wow penE the atmosphere you have created is spot on. Very impressive! Really can't wait to see it once it's done. Just out of curiosity, what is this for? Portfolio piece? Fun? Mod (if so yippee!)

Be nice if we'd ever be able to see the other campaigns for insurgency that were planned .

They are actually trying here to make kangaroo replace beef. Due to kangaroos being a lot more environmentally friendly animal, and the meat is good for you as well . And I know I am dragging up an old thread here, but Stratty, you really chose some awesome places to visit while over here. It's good to see that you don't have any photos of the god damn opera house.. -
Nice work! I really appreciate the fog in those screenshots, gives the map a real nice feel. If i get time will definitely download and play!

Heh and everyone here is having a nice ol' arguement about it. I think its cool man, i'd definitely like to see it applied to what I said above though.

Hessi - as obvious by the HL2 Dev texture set, he was just playing with the technique. I am assuming because he posted it in the WIP screenshots thread that he was asking for constructive feedback, and not negative. In all honesty, he did a pretty good job, if the map was more developed, I believe that the technique that he used would look really cool. So here is constructive feedback for Psy: Nice work, but definitely need to have more of the level complete, which is obvious by the dev textures. One thing that could improve the tilt shifting is the use of more NPC's and objects in the scene. Maybe even making the scene larger, instead of constraining it to a room, maybe something like a warehouse floor? Or a large open air area, for example a car wreckers yard etc.. That is the only things missing from the screenshots, completion and a better use of objects/npc in a slightly larger scene.

Hessi he isn't attempting DOF, he is attempting tilt shifting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilt-shift_miniature_faking). He didn't do a bad job either imo. The first shot is a little off, but second is almost perfect for a tilt shift, it just needs more to make it look even cooler.

Well you just spoke a mouthful of truth! God I love mirrors edge art style, can't wait to see more of this !

Absolutely fucking superb. Could easily knock a current gen title off.

I like the architecture in the outside pool thing. My advice for that though, do something more intriguing with the lighting and try to use a bigger sized tile texture? Currently the tiles go all blurry because the grout is so close together. For the first few - they seem a little boring and flat. I don't know if that is just the perspective of the shots or what, but the textures do make that seem very uninteresting. However that being said, I love the rich warm feeling that those textures are giving the room, perhaps try to spice it up a little with some better lighting? Get rid of those horrid fluorescents and pop in some lamps or something. A desk lamp with a nice warm glow would definitely liven the scene up quite a bit. Also the wood beams that run across the roof, that texture looks malaligned, or tiling really poorly. The outside is sorta cool, If you were to do the lighting real nice and warm inside it would provide a fantastic contrast between the two. I'd perhaps get rid of those satellite dish towers, and maybe work on having the buildings in the background a bit more varied. Not sure how your skills with 3d are, but they would be so much nicer as props rather than brush work. And I think I have commented on that last shot before. I hope those comments help, overall coming along nicely

So BJA is having my babies - decision final. Don't like the lighting on 2 - but the other two are fantastic. REALLY awesome work.

SpicyTanuki - looking good. In that in game screen, I know you said it is old, I would probably try to darken the sky a little if you can. I like the lighting / atmosphere you are going for, but I am not 100% sure that sky suits.
-
Omega - That is looking much better. But would be nice to see something other than a corridor. Warby - Fantastic, Love it. My only gripe is the last screenshot, bit too red for me. I love the theme you are going for though, very cool.
-
Honestly - I've never played Crysis, but the lighting is way too bloomy imo.

Definitely liking the vertical stuff. Not sure what your layout is like, but it'd be cool to see some scaffolding and stuff hanging off the sides of those cliffs, just to add to that whole feeling of "you gotta watch your back, top, front, sides, bottom" etc.
