Watched some video from polish gaming site where they said that the city feels empty in most places. It is crowded near quest locations but the further away you are from city center the less dense the population is. Also cars tend to have same paths. For example one of the journalist observed a crossroad for few minutes and each time the car passed it turned in the same direction.

I noticed how the city feels empty in the gameplay videos too. Hopefully it's just a matter of optimization so they can spawn more NPCs and vehicles later on in the development :)

I've learned the very basics to model the basic shapes in blender. Still have to master boolean operations though.

In UT I was limited to 8 - 16 sided cylinders, in UE4 I'm going up to 64.

IT's much easier to work with multiples of ten than with powers of two.

    Cool progress!

I've worked with both grid styles (multiples of ten or powers of two), and I prefer powers of two, because it breaks down nicely:

    8 - 4 - 2 - 1 - 0.5 - 0.25 - 0.125

Whereas with 5, you get a lot of broken numbers:

    5 - 2.5 - 1.25 - 0.625 etc...

This was a surprisingly dank game boy game. Can’t remember if it was GBA or game boy color

oh man, I played the shit out of that on an emulator back then. I was pro at the game with the keyboard :D

This really reminds me that if the basic gameplay/controls of the game is fun, the rest all falls into place.

I'm started playing Hitman 2. Loved the missions of the first one, and this one doesn't disappoint either. It's a shame they had to inprovise their cinamtics, you can deffo tell they tried to cut some budget there, but i'd rather see it done there than the game itself. Just finished Mission 4 in Mumbai, the environment art in this game is amazing, really immersive.

Also playing Ori Will of the Wisps. I know many of you don't like platformers, but this game is just a delight. Music, art, level design, pacing everything is perfectly balanced. Really recommend picking this up on steam, sometimes you legit get goosebumps when the art, music and story just come together.

I played about 1/4 of Doom E, need to go back to it. Reason I stopped is because I've got it on PC, and after a whole day of sitting on my PC for work, being in the same spot is the last thing I wanted to do, and playing Doom with a controller is a capital sin, so...

Also finished RE3 remake. A disappointment if you compare it to the quality bar that RE2 remake set. Specially the lenght of the campaign.
If you compare it to the original RE3, it's also a bit disappointing, many puzzles are gone, some areas are not here either like the clock tower and gardens, and even the ones that were remade are shorter. It's a bit more actony, and less survival horror.
With all that being said, I've had to say the campaign is really well paced, graphics are amazing specially on PC, sounds is awesome too if you play it on a 5.1 setup. I'd way till the price comes down to around 30 bucks to get it.

Been trying to play a few more indies, this one really stoop up, A Short Hike. And sure enough it's really well made.

A Short Hike is amazing, really inspiring game made by one dude! He gave a great GDC talk this year:

  5. 99% of Those Who Died From Virus Had Other Illness, Italy Says

The Rome-based institute has examined medical records of about 18% of the country’s coronavirus fatalities, finding that just three victims, or 0.8% of the total, had no previous pathology. Almost half of the victims suffered from at least three prior illnesses and about a fourth had either one or two previous conditions.

I took some pictures here in Lyon when I went to buy some stuff...it's really really a strange thing to live with and in the same time it feels good. You can hear birds and no cars, you breathe...yeah, these are the good things in all of this mess.

    Cool pics!

Last week I had a case of cabin fever and had to go for a walk on the bike path near where I live (it has a lot of bushes, trees, a small creek etc...). It was a Wednesday afternoon and I had never seen it so crowded before, so many families and couples walking around. Was a bit surreal. I went to Laguna Beach on Saturday and saw many people acting like nothing is happening,  playing volleyball and basketbal, waiting in a long line for milk shakes... While I appreciated we could go to the beach and enjoy a nice walk on a sunny day, I also don't believe that authorities will allow that to happen much longer...
