  1. Saw the whole season now. Thought it was great, liked it waaaay more than GoT. Honestly I’d like to not compare that show at all but if it can keep from getting into the shitshow GoT got into after a few seasons count me in!

The different timelines were a little confusing at first. As for the visuals it didn’t really bother me at all tbh.

  2. fck yeah beach house <3

Been on and off again digging in to Hammock, but didn't notice they released a new album (sometime) last year. It might just be "the honeymoon phase" but so far this is a damn good one. The opening tune itself is something that sounds like it will stick around for a long time for me, totally gives me Jonsi & Alex vibes!

hehe, if we got paid what other people in the tech industry get on average, this chart would be off the scale. some wise words here for sure, doing things procedural no matter your area is certainly wise, if nothing else it's a blast to figure out, but everything has it's limits,  just need to figure out the pros and cons. Whats interesting recently, is the biggest games are pretty limited in scope, which is actually smart in it's own right, especially as costs keep going up. I guess, what blows my mind, is how much gamers expect, for say, $30, in a bar, that's a couple of beers and a pizza, maybe 2-3 hours of entertainment, yet games are somewhat expected to last forever, for such value? I'm certainly not advocating we make games $200, but it always fascinates me. Maybe the real issue here is eating/drinking out is too damn expensive! :P

“Worst game I’ve ever played! 0/10” (play time 200 hours)

  4. Might as well post this here, I had no idea about this movie until the other day but as a big fan of Moon I'm looking forward to it.

There's hardly any information about it yet but the director (Duncan Jones) described it as a spiritual sequel to Moon.

Apparently out on Netflix next month (so I guess I'll keep it for at least one more month then :P)

  5. On the off chance you understand Swedish here’s a pretty nice little 3 part video of a studio visit to Machinegames by Fragzone, not too informative to a developer but still a neat look at the studio and their process.

I have a lot of respect for the guys over there. It feels like they have a really strong direction to how they make (and stick to how they make) their games and I think it really shows. Wish I had the chance to work with a bunch of them before they left Starbreeze.

  6. Guess this thread is a billion years old but I finally got the game - on Switch. It's cool, I like the ambiance in it a lot! But I'm pretty disappointed in how poor the performance is in a lot of the open exteriors.

    But how was it?

It was alright. At times I got this kind of childhood adventure/mystery vibe which was pretty awesome.

Also features a young Ron Perlman so it's worth it just for that!

It's a little silly and cheesy for sure but it goes well with what this guys is usually doing.

Don't go in expecting something like Pan's Labyrinth tho... Nowhere near that good IMO.

I always wanted to see this one and I even imported it, but for some weird reason there are no subtitles for the Spanish parts making it impossible to follow the movie. I even downloaded a couple of versions but still the same problem.

Ah that sucks. I found it as a buy/rent movie with English subtitles on Amazon's streaming app. I doubt the library is the same globally but I guess it could be worth a shot in case you have that.

  9. Looks like it could be a lot of fun!

I do get a pretty big UT vibe from the later videos though. Not quite sure what it is, maybe the general movement feels more soft rather than than the snappy quake style I'm used to.

Maps look cool and somewhat recognizable but they also remind me a lot of UT and not quite as readable as I wish for a fast paced game like this. Hard to tell before giving it a go though!

Definitely looking forward to try this out - need to give Reflex a go too!

  10. I played DOW1 a lot (including all the expansions) but weirdly enough I don't think I ever played the second one :S

looking forward to this one though. Haven't played an RTS since Legacy of the Void came out I think.
