  2. Well, not really goodbye forever. Today in the mail I recieved my acceptance letter from USD (university of san diego), I haven't really been saying much about it, but for the past year or so I have been trying to get back into school to finish my architecture degree that I started 2 years ago before I dropped out to work in the game industry. Also, this will allow me to live back at home with the people I love. In a few months I will be moving back home and working on my degree full time, and I probably wont have much time do to anything internet or game related, since I will be in the studio most of the time. I thought the game industry would be for me, but after these few years I have realized that my real passion lies in drawing perspective sketches and building cardboard models. Thanks to everyone at mapcore who has been around to bullshit with me over the years. I guess this marks my second retirement from level design, your truly an old school friend if you remember the first

  11. I changed a few things on the old ships and redid the scale with the size of the image being the size of the game screen. Gotta get started on some new ones.
  12. I'm also judging by my 1600 x 1200 screensize, I guess I should have made the image the size of the whole game screen.
  13. yea, I think normally they would, but I'm planning to have say . . 6 enemy ships on screen max, it's going to be a bit more tactical than your average space shooter.

  16. yea, I would spend more time adding little details, but I think they are only going to be around 128 - 256 pixels large on the screen. Right now, since I dont think you will ever have a chance to see these things from the side or bottom, I just planar map them from the top, and use the texporter pluing for max (google if you want it) and do it up in photoshop.

  18. here is mai first enemy alien ship type vessel made the cockpitish part non-dirty remember, this is also way way closer than you would ever see it in game. here is the players ship again with a slight skin tweak

  21. I'm working on a little top downish space shooter game with my brother, and this is the first littol ship I made. You wont really see it at a sideways angle (thus the bad texturing in some places) but I wanted to prove it was 3d since you cant really tell from a top down render.
