If it was someones liscenced engine, usually it's mentioned in the press release as them "teaming up" with that tech

I made a few more ships, here is a scale shot with all 10 enemy ships so far, I'm planning on having 12.

Also if you check out what we got so far we added some better weapon fx with lights and added some test asteroids.

there was lots of dialouge in vietcong besides the commands you specifically ordered. During points in the mission, say, when you went into a vc tunnel for the first time, you character would say stuff to the effect of "why am I always the one that has to go down" or something. They had no actual impact to the gameplay, but by the end of the game, I was assosciating the voice and attitude of the recorded dialouge with the way I played my character.

I didn't have type to read that huge post, but from the gist of the replies I think your asking if first person voice acting works while still making you feel like a part of the story. I think it works just fine as long as it's well done. Example: Vietcong
I could see how it could go horribly wrong if not done well tho.

Well, not really goodbye forever. Today in the mail I recieved my acceptance letter from USD (university of san diego), I haven't really been saying much about it, but for the past year or so I have been trying to get back into school to finish my architecture degree that I started 2 years ago before I dropped out to work in the game industry. Also, this will allow me to live back at home with the people I love. In a few months I will be moving back home and working on my degree full time, and I probably wont have much time do to anything internet or game related, since I will be in the studio most of the time. I thought the game industry would be for me, but after these few years I have realized that my real passion lies in drawing perspective sketches and building cardboard models. Thanks to everyone at mapcore who has been around to bullshit with me over the years. I guess this marks my second retirement from level design, your truly an old school friend if you remember the first
