oh man, good point - I totally forgot about that, pretty important for changing colors! Too many props to make!!!! I need to pick up the pace :/
-
yea, I think I will make drums right now actually, can't have a garage without oil drums another small prop I just finished, and a very WIP shot of what the garage layout might look like with everything thrown in there. There is still 3 or 4 more props I need to make, since the camera will be close in on the kart they will be close so I want them to look nice. Once I finish the props I will texture and do some simple details to the background of the garage and then light the whole thing. I am thinking it would be cool to have the garage door in the background rolled up and be able to see outside through that and the windows, would be a good light source too.

I'm gonna try this out for sure, probably have to go to my brother's house though since I don't have a Wii anymore

finished another garage prop, an exciting air compressor!
-
I am working on an air compressor right now which I think is the most boring of all garage implements, I want to finish it quickly

Brian put up a blog post about a bunch of the tech we are using: http://nimblebit.blogspot.com/2008/04/y ... alone.html

interesting, I wonder if it will be an actual app or just another web portal. No word about steamworks yet.

I really think the only way we could get on XBLA is if we already had a finished game on another platform, every developer I have talked to about XBLA is that it's not even worth trying. For one thing, the royalty rate to developers has now been slashed, and the market is so incredibly saturated now that it's almost impossible to get something on there, especially something like a racing game that XBLA already has a lot of. Plus we would have to find a publisher to back us to get it on there since the price of the dev hardware and the entire process is way too expensive for our ramen-sized budget. PC is free and open and there are no restrictions, and hey - I even like to play games on it. I don't need anyone telling me my game's not good enough So I wouldn't hold my breath to see it on XBLA

finished texturing the toolbox
-
Thats a good point Acu, it will be easy to adjust once there is stuff sitting on it and I can gauge if thats gonna be a problem.

always raining on my parade bic! I don't think there is much of anything underneath a go kart, thats my justification.

so I have been really busy lately moving to a new place and dealing with all that fun stuff, but I recently started working on the "garage" environment, which will be a little room that your kart sits in where you can customize your looks, your kart tuning, etc. Hopefully we will end up supporting custom garages too so people can download new garage environments. Here is the lift that you and your kart will be sitting ontop of: here is the texture: and here is a toolbox prop that will be sitting close by, I still need to texture it. here are the UV's (spent like 4 hours on these!)

I wonder how much phillips pays for something like that? It doesn't seem like it would do a lot of good for phillips, like someone would be shopping for tv's and think hey, I remember having a shootout in that old bombed out 1940's phillips factory, I should see what they have for sale! It also seems like a lot of work for the developers to work that in so I would imagine the situation is much more like "we are going to put this in anyway, lets see if the company will pay us to put their signage up there instead of making up some fake company", Instead of an actual form of revenue where companies can push what they really want to advertise.

yes, very nice apartment! the wood floors and plans are and you new couch looks very nice! Ok, time to get up and start moving shit to my new place.
-
mazy, you are my moving into a new apartment buddeh~~~ this thread is getting to gay, more pix wif wemmenz

omg this thread is so emo so I'm gonna go into emo-mode this is me packing up to move AGAIN, hooray! I know, I look super excited! I think this is the third or fourth year in a row that I have been moving, it's really starting to get old. Maybe one day I will be prosperous and I can settle down and grow some roots. I am moving in with my girlfriend to a tiny apartment, it won't be as nice of a place to work on Zero Gear in but it will be a little bit cheaper and I will have the company of zaf's tru loev, omgzz can't wait Also I have been kinda depressed becuase said girlfriend has been in europe for the last week and will still be there for another week and a half, and all my other friends and family have been out of town as well - so in some kind of weird alignment of the planets I have had nobody to hang out with recently. I am excited about finally getting the keys to my new place tomorrow so I can get the whole dreaded process halfway over with. Also, my lady called me from france today, ++ happy points, and also me and Brian tried an internet test of Zero Gear from San Diego to San Fran (he is in San Fran) and it seemed to work better than we had anticipated. Still a lot of optimization to do but it bodes well for the practicality of our network architecture.

yea the most noticeable thing is the price of gas sucking ass big time. Also, I have noticed that food prices have gone up a little as well. Not like, holy crap I can't afford to eat - but more like, wait a second - I always used to be able to pay for this with a 5 dollar bill and now I can't. Also, going on vacation to anywhere in europe SUCKS

I was skeptical about how many steam users would have 1024x768 displays, but according to the november 07 steam hardware survey, 31.89 % do, which I really was not expecting.
-
yea, it is. I guess I could set the horizontal overflow to hidden so that you don't get scrollbars at least on displays from 1999.
-
what browser and version are you using?

yea I wish I had time to do some really fun stuff with it. It already took me two more days than I had planned :/ When the time comes to put up a better site I hope I have the resources to hire someone who knows what they are doing to make a really flashy one.
