(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ was looking forward to this

well after dusting the resume after, its sooo crazy looking back, almost 10 years now in the industry, which means mapcore is like ~12ish years old!
-
Was definitely a sad day, but I know that we'll bounce back and find jobs. Also, first post in like a gajillion years
-
GOTCHA That was rather cool to watch. Old school mapping for life.

The DC made that move so much more awesome than it already was. I am looking forward to Friday, I have been on a video game draught and haven't bought anything since November (when I lost my job ) but now with my upcoming job I can start to get back into the groove with Co-Op Resident Evil 5 and maybe some Halo Wars with the gf. This is preemptive "Look what I bought" post

Got me a new job down in Austin Texas with Junction Point, Warren Spector's new studio. It should be a lot of fun

Ruffian looks really cool and I remembering thinking of sending my resume back in January when their website first went up, but being in Texas I did not. I wish Ruffian the best and hope that some people from the forums here take a chance and follow up with Ruffian.

ok that just sounds plain delicious. Right now I am drying out (roasting) some peppers. Good god my apartment smells heavenly.

Yes I know we mainly deal with mapping and games and to a lesser extent movies/tv. But maybe some of you out there are some culinary experts. So what are your favorite things to cook (it can be anything from just Mac and Cheese to Chicken Florentine). I've been cooking more and more in the past few months and am trying to branch out to new and different things. I have cooked Indian, Italian, Asian and my parents got me this 660 curry recipe book for my birthday (which is really awesome), so I am trying to do more Indian and maybe new fusion dishes. Tonight I am cooking Curry Chicken Enchiladas, or at least going to try to . I can make a wicked Sweet and Sour Chicken (thanks to Fletch), and I have studied up on the Curry Chicken so I think things will go well. If my camera phone can take some good photos I'll post the aftermath, hopefully it is nom nom. So how about you?

got a random friend request for a Robotic Metalica :X I check their friends list and it was empty D: I don't mind the random friend request, but it is definitely helpful to know who is sending it

No PS3 yet VVVV

well didn't do any civ4 or much tf2 this weekend at all. Hardly got any Rock Band in. Just sat on my couch and was lazy. I did pick up the Simpsons game again. Even as a rinky dinky platform its quite fun.
-
I see absolutely nothing wrong with this post.

up at 7am, still at work at 1030pm. Had a good couple rounds of TF2 :X and a sort of easy going day at work (thank god tomorrow is friday and then the weekend)
-
people's plans for the weekend? Rock Band, Some old School Guitar Hero Action, TF2@!!!

Must. Avoid. Hype Train. I want this game so bad

oh well that sucks, I added 2 more options and it just messed up the entire poll > Standard DVDs looked like the main choice of the few who voted with 8

Just curious how the folks here watch / buy movies. I am talking about DVD Releases, not movies that have come out in theaters. I have found myself shying away from DVDs personally and picking up HD DVDs for the cheap. I know its a dead format but since my HD DVD player was free I feel like I might as well get some bang out of my buck for it. I can't justify picking up movies in just standard DVD format due to the fact that I know in the distant future they will be released in HD (blu ray of course, so I will probably have to pick up a PS3 ). The quality is just so much better (well with a HDTV) it just hurts me. Of course there are some HD DVDs that were pumped out rather quickly and weren't polished for released so they don't look true HD - http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=942015 is a great thread that lists the quality of HD DVD movies, I am sure on that forum that there is one for Blu Ray as well. But now there is Apple TV and Xbox Marketplace. Both amazing places to just rent HD movies for cheap and almost no wait (at least that considerable long of a wait) to stream it to your player and begin watching. This is obviously where I think the future of rentals/purchases of movies is heading and I feel its a damn shame since I like to have the actual physical object. I am sure if things go the downloading for rent/buying method I will have to accept it.

so wait... it works on other HDTVs?

Got a chance to see this movie last night and it was really good. Its the movie about the MIT kids that go to Vegas and win loads of money on Blackjack. Don't know what to call it (not action, comedy or really a drama, at least in the romantic sense), its probably just a good character movie than anything else. Trailer - http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/21/

I still need to play Mass Effect but Rock Band just owns my soul. Beat Army of Two over the weekend, fun co-op but I couldn't really see it as a fun single player game, too bug and I shudder to think what your AI teammate is like. Popped in the Simpsons game the other night, and still play that from time to time. So much better than the last 10 years of that show. Definitely just a puzzle platformer but it brings back old memories of the first few seasons. How that show got so bad I don't know.
