I don't know why, but I laughed pretty histarically when he said, "look at his face." Other than that, pretty damned sexy.

On my combat survival exercise, my team and I were awake for three straight days. After that, we only got about four-five hours of sleep that next night. Anyway, the military here has these spiffy drugs that keep you up for God knows how long without feeling sleep deprived at all. It's really awesome, until you get off it and then you feel like shit and want to sleep forever. Yeah, it was neat. I voted for a day, 'cause you're a puss.

Digital and film SLR hybrids are still a little iffy by today's standards, especially with the fact that newer digital imaging chips which effectively double the resolution are due out later this year. I'd stick with a straight 35mm Film SLR, just because. If you're worried about film, buy it in bulk; big packages of film costs a shitload less than individual film rolls. As for price, it really depends on 1.) The manufacturer 2.) Features 3.) Material 4.) Quality. 4 and 1 tie together, as one manufacturer can be higher quality than another, thus increasing their prices... or something... Stick with something from Pentax or Nikon, though. A lot of features you probably won't need. If you find a SLR camera with red-eye reduction, for example, don't get it; that's a typical sign that the camera MAY use digital enhancements to fuck with the image and how your pictures are taken. Some basic things you'll probably want, are some simple automatic stuff, such as auto shutter speeds, aperature size, etc. Also, a good rapid shot feature is nice if you plan on taking sequence shots(especially handy if you're going to be taking pictures at sports games, for example). One thing that's definately required, though, is flash... but that's a given. Lets see... Most SLR cameras come with swappable lenses... shit, in fact all of Pentax's and Nikon's cameras do. Before you purchase your camera, though, find out what kind of mounting the cameras take(either screw mount or bayonette mount). Personally, I like bayonette mounts more just 'cause they're easy... as easy as Zaphod. Anyway, definately ask that. You also want to check what the maximum shutter speed is. The higher the number, the more you'll pay. I have a max shutter speed of 1/2000, and it works like a charm. I've seen some Pentax cameras go as high as 1/16000, and those cost shitloads. What sort of cameras were you looking at, and what sort of price range do you have in mind?

Don't listen to chips... he's mean. Anyway, if you're just starting off with photography, a SLR is definately the way to go. IMO, point-and-shoot cameras are just that... point and shoot... You have only a prayer in hell that you'll get a picture to turn out right. SLR cameras, however, almost force you to set everything up the way you want it(you have to focus manually, zoom manually, etc...). The Pentax ZX-60 is a great camera, IMHO, as it is both an automatic SLR camera, and a manual one (it can automatically focus on the subject in the reticule, for example... making it partially automatic). Again, another good camera manufacturer is Nikon. They make some really high quality SLR cameras as well, but I just prefer Pentax.

Why in the FUCK are you using yahoo mail you fag?

SLR is short for "single lense reflex"... I think. Yeah. Anyway, it's basically a high quality 35mm camera that can take different lenses and a whole lot of other shit. Advantages over digital cameras are too many to list, but you can setup your own shots... focus on certain areas in a picture, blah blah... uhm... you can switch out lenses to take close up shots, or shots miles away. What else... oh yeah, since it's film it'll offer a much higher quality than a digital camera. I don't know how else I could explain it to you, so yeah.

If you're just learning photography, then I suggest a good SLR camera. Sure you can't download them to your computer instantly, but for beginners, and quality, SLR cameras are far superior to their digital counterparts. Nikon and Pentax make the best SLR cameras(and digital cameras, too) to date, so get something from them.

Still, nothing beats a SLR. I love my ZX-60. Add a 210mm, and a 800mm lense, and you've got yourself quite the beast. Oh yeah, I also have a macro lense too, but I forget how big that one is. Oh yeah, I also modified a bit of the winding mechanisms, so instead of taking a rapid three pictures per second, I can take about ten pictures per second, but I certainly wouldn't try doing this by yourself at home. As Jynx man says, the Optio S4 is the size of a credit card and the thickness of a deck of cards. The optical zoom is definately a plus, as most digital cameras nowadays use a digital zoom rather than an optical zoom... no wonder so many digital cameras take shitty pictures.
-
A digital camera that has served me well is the Pentax Optio S4(http://www.pentaxusa.com/products/camer ... ctid=18283). It's small, making it very portable, and has great specs, given its size. If you're not completely hell-bent on digital cameras, I strongly suggest a digital SLR hybrid type of camera. Pentax makes a good one that I've used a little, and I loved it. It also offers you the advantage of getting pictures in both digital and negative formats, making it pretty damn swank. Give it a look if you're willing to spend a little money.

I find this ironic, as Iran still has a machine that can print US currency like I print out porn and post it on my wall. Also, why doesn't Iran sue the French, too? The French supplied Iraq with a nuclear power plant, in which Iraq misused and started manufacturing weapons grade plutonium from it. Don't forget the war materials and money the French supplied Iraq in the early 80's, as well. And since Iran is so "concerned" about its people(I highly doubt they are; this is probably more of a stunt to get more money... but that's obvious methinks) then should Iran pay the hostages of the Irani hostage situation for emotional help? Fuck Iran, and fuck their demands. Shit, Bush is right and they probably are housing quite a few terrorists in that police-state regime anyway.
