  6. wow the game is gorgeous!
  7. Yeah its pretty cool, but I already talked with them about their packaging methods which need to be improved because their mod interferes with Unreal editing functionality. If you really want to play a DoD-like game in UT2k3 then go for it, otherwise wait a little while until they can make the leap to ut2k4, im pretty sure they will begin going to a model like bf1942 with tanks at least. A bf1942-like mod in ut2k4 would rock though, it'd create some stiff competition against bf1942.
  8. The Red Orchestra mod has released 1.1 Beta which contains many bugfixes and enhancements, I highly suggest you patch up if you are already playing this wonderful mod. If not, then give it a try! http://www.unrealwarfarex.com/redorchestra/
  9. Hey everyone, If you are interested at all in Unreal technology (or have no clue what its about) I would highly suggest you give it a try. You may have heard many (probably bad) opinions about Unreal, but you should check it out before deciding. Many of the reasons why its got a bad wrap is because of its modification layout and editing design(many say its too easy, which is its advantage). Things are scripted (UnrealScript, compiled as well) and carved (u2 Mapping) versus being coded (DLL Modification) and compiled (BSP making). So for many that are used to Half-Life and Worldcraft, it will be a big shocker to you when your told to carve out of a box instead of making many boxes and connecting them together. A place you could start from and a course I am taking currently in my spare time is at Mastering Unreal (See link below). They are now doing online classes complete with Video training, tests, assignments and questions to instructors. Its as if you stepped into a virtual classroom and the quality fo the training is incredible, im still shocked that its absolutely free. If Unreal is'nt your bag then you might want to check out their 3d courses on Maya and 3D Studio MAX which are just incredible as well. I know it sounds like I am some used car salesman for them, but the price is right and the training has lured me of all people into 3d level editing. If I can pick it up, I am sure you can too. 10. Recently Epic Games, makers of the Unreal Engine used in AAA game titles (Unreal, Unreal Tournament, XIII, Splinter Cell, Deus Ex 2) has released a stripped-down version of their game engine for educational, non-profit use. This is also releated to a commercial edition of their engine with similar structure intended to compete with other engines of a similar license such as Lithtech's line of engines or Jet3d engine editions. If you want to develop a commercial game using their runtime, they have a special pricing system (versus the $350,000+ they charge) for just the runetime itself, with source code headers being an extra fee. What does this mean to you? You can now develop your own title game as a mod to the Unreal engine and release it free for anyone to use (your fans dont have to have UT2k3 to play the game you make with this runtime) so you could easily make your game dreams come true with this engine, free of chrage too! If you think your game has market profitability then you can license the runtime commercially for a fee, assuming Epic "approves" you to commercially license the engine. The UDN link can be found here: http://udn.epicgames.com/pub/Powered/Un ... e22261903/ Here are some resources you might want to check out if you wish to develop for this engine. 11. Dangermouses is... interesting
  12. lol, very funny... where is Erik Johnson helping hold the sign though?
  13. Ill post some screenies later, but the mod is like DoD however with germans against russians. There are a few bugs in there, however its a beta which is to be expected. I had a chat with the mods owner and he plans to expand a few of the things that were unfinished in beta1 which is the grenade system along with vehicles later on. Tanks amongst other vehicles are a big priority on their list of things to do and add in, all the users (including me) want them. If you have ut2k3, get this mod. If your a ut2k3 mapper, please join their team as they are looking desperately for good mappers on their team. For a first beta, this mod is definately worth the download!
  14. diddnt even realize I was'nt logged in, lol
