    Hi internets~
I'm good these days, even though I lost my job. Healthy, strong and lots of productive pursuits.

Over the years I have saved my copy of the orginal cs_siege.map file that has the APC. This was given to me by Euro*Brew after N0TH1NG passed away so that I could remove the APC (because people hated it apparently). I figtured I would share some screenshots with you guys

Also, some of you might not know this but this monitor texture is actually my desktop from the time. In my browser I actually had the original Mapcore forums loaded up and in the background I'm connected to the mapcore IRC channel.

Here are a few more screenshots as well

After my recent sojourn I'm back in a more familiar milieu as I'm joining some old friends and colleagues at Embark Studios for new procedural adventures!
Will update the job listings with relevant positions, I know we looking for more awesome devs to join the studio!

Dear lord, what is going on with that presenter's hands?  Anyway, I havent' played the game yet, so I cant weigh in on that. But the show and tell with @CompoSITe by gameinformer can be seen here in full length (found it interesting):

Last memory of Diablo 2: blaring Linkin Park in the background via my CD drive, skipping middle school to play online. Getting d/c’d every time someone used the phone. Losing all of my items and then desperately trying to find them again (futile)

The desert and jungles oozed atmosphere. The dart fuckers were annoying but eh everygame has something annoying.

That Diablo 4 cinematic was spot on. Best one since the Diablo II opening cinematic to me. In-game footage looking good, too. Gotta read up more on the details of open world and spaces shared with other players.
On the Overwatch side of things: I still play it frequently. I really, really like the game but nothing that I've seen coming out of Blizzcon greatly excites me about Overwatch 2? I'm always up for new maps and heroes but I guess that's the downside of spoiling players with exactly that on the first game, for free, for years. In the end, I'll probably end up buying it for the new content anyway so what am I talking about haha

Since that time of the year is almost upon us yet again, I thought I'd see what I wrote last year. Pretty pleased to see that I actually achieved that and with plenty of time still left on the clock.
I started work as QA at my local Ubisoft back in December.
I published Terraza on the workshop in March. It got hit by a wave of downvote bots and ended in obscurity. It was recently featured on Faceit's Season 2 of Wingman and got some more feedback on it. I'm looking to tweak it after the CS:GO contest ends, add support for Deathmatch/Demolition and re-release it maybe.
In the meantime, my friend Ville built an online portfolio for me to use. That also took a bit of tweaking, going back and forth, mostly because I'm too much of a perfectionist, but we got something that I'm quite happy with. It's super clean and responsive.
In April I started work on a huge FC5 arcade level, Jungle Raid, that I got to finish by the end of July. Afterwards, I spent two-three more weeks going through feedback and one or two additional weeks working on the supporting documentation. This was definitely a huge learning experience for me, but also quite a challenge.
In September I finally got the chance to apply for a jr ld position at my Ubisoft and after two weeks of interviews and HR talks I got the job!
However, before all of this, I had spent around a year and a half trying to put together a portfolio (starting autumn 2016 to spring 2018) and failing to the point where I burned out and genuinely quit sometime in April 2018. After that, I spent the next 7 months working as a freelance photographer. This was a long period of introspection and personal growth that led to managing myself better, being more open towards people and asking for help when I needed it.
Now I'm working on the PvP component of Ghost Recon Breakpoint (which released to stellar reviews!), my map for the CS:GO contest and something else on the side. Yeah, I'm looking forward to 2020!

Unfortunately the studio I was part of, Defiant Studios, pretty much exploded due to a nonsensical conflict with our publisher...
Good news is, 3-4 weeks later, our team got picked up by People Can Fly, and now represents the NA branch of the company!
But obviously during the hiatus, the future was uncertain... and people had to look elsewhere, including myself (cuz livin' in NY ain't cheap, ya know)

So I just moved to the West Coast last week, and just started yesterday at 343 Industries, working on the next Halo!!
Absolutely love the studio and team, and I can't wait to share more details when time comes 🤩

Can someone edit my entry in the top post please? Thank you very much ❤️
    Cheers guys!!

Just moved to Redmond WA, and it's my first time here on the West coast!
I'm starting at 343 Industries on Tuesday, meanwhile I have time to explore the area, get used to everything etc.
Aaand looks like I'm back at the "living with extreme minimalism while waiting for the movers to deliver my stuff" chapter of life. Hopefully it's gonna take less than 2 months this time...
    Cheers!

I think I'll just skip Absolution I think, been too long.
With a baby, it's challenging, but the good thing is that they go to bed earlier so I reserve myself about 45 mins to an hour a day for games, so I usually play something between 9pm to 10pm. Games like hitman are perfect, because you can finish a mission in more or less an hour.

Even after 10pm, I still have 2 or 3 hours left of my day to squeeze from, which you can use for love making, side project work, meditation, or whatever you have planned, because these last couple years I forced myself to be a lot more restrictive with my time, so I soft plan my hours of the day, you'd be surprised how much "fat" you have in your day to day life you can easily trim out.
I started by leaving facebook, I still do Twitter but I only follow 99 art accounts, so when I'm taking a shit or whatever I can just quickly scroll through some inspiring art.
And I just learned to make my calendar my friend, instead of my worst enemy, which is how I treated it my whole life, lol.
You can treat time the same way you count calories, or count your money. If you sit down to check your monthly bills, you realize how much needle shit you're paying for. Same for food, if you sit down and count your calories, you'll be surprised how much needless shit you're eating daily. Time is the same thing, I would even argue it's the most important thing so treat it with the respect it deserves.
    (Sorry for the OT ramble)
