  1. I have spent 45 hours playing Battlefield 1 thus far and it is only getting more fun. :) One question about something that still puzzles me: tiny atmospheric flames on the ground that set me aflame within split-seconds when walking across them. So annoying. Why is that still a thing?

  2. Tisky, how about finding a different girl and actually having a good time instead of posting snaps trying to get her attention? That shit is weak. She is still having control over you.

How likely is it really that she is going to leave you for her rich partner? I believe you when you say that you are more fun than him but financial stability has a strong pull on women especially when they reach a certain age. From my experience, when a girl tells you to "see other girls", she is not testing you to find out if you really want her more than other girls but instead she literally means: "This was a fling. It is over. I am not who/what you are looking for".

What is not weak IMO is saying hi to her when you bump into her on the street. I wouldn't recommend to you to stay friends with her, because I can never do that when a girl breaks up with me myself. But keep some composure. I know you have heard this a thousand times probably but you need to meet other girls and you will soon find that this won't only take your mind off her but that you can have a great connection to other nice(er) ladies as well. Also, keep your chin up, mate! :)

Where have you been in the last year lol? Have you seen Civil War?

No, I haven't. The last Marvel adaption I saw was Avengers 2 - scratch that, it was "Deadpool". But only because that one seemed to stick out from the superhero movie avalanche that only seems to be getting bigger over the past 2 years. If you're still getting excited over seeing Iron Man on the screen for the 12th time, that's cool. I've just grown tired of it comparetively quickly...

    Hello,

We are a development team in Munich, Germany that focuses on top down RPG and RTS games.
At the moment we are in full production of SpellForce 3 but we are still hiring people. Some of our level designers mention this forum as a good place to meet designers/level designers and we would love to post our openings here.

    Thanks!

Welcome! Feel free to post a thread in this section for better exposure (one of our moderators will approve it shortly after).

In the last couple months I sold my house, quit my job in Germany and moved back to France to try to solve my couple/family issues, am divorcing my wife after all and joining a game-dev startup, buying a car as my old one died after the drive back home, and searching for a flat to buy in my hometown. Lots of changes, I think for the better, looking forward to having more time for myself!

I'm rooting for ya, Clem! Wishing you all the best even though I wish you would come back - the Swedes are getting brash ;)

This guy point is basically the concept that lead in Italy to the incredible rise of an alternative, "indie" if you like, party (they call themselves movement) that has a third of the parliament seats and a mayor in the capital… in something like 8 years, when they started by simply meeting up in local groups to discuss change and politics, organising via Meetup.

This might be a call to change and get people active

This guy got some strange analogies but there is truth in his message. I am hoping for the American political system and people that now parties beyond the Democrats and Republicans finally begin to gain traction and voters get more choice than the two established parties (without throwing their vote away).

Chill out, now he got the votes with his crazy declamations, he'll fold and do what the pentagon and lobbies tell him to do.

There's a very convincing method: showing the Kennedy assassination… from a differently positioned camera ?

I know, Godwin's law and all that, but this is pretty much what Hindenburg and the other politicians thought of Hitler when he came to power. That he will listen to them, that he can be controlled.

I was shocked this morning but now I am just tired of the endless arguing. We have had enough of this the past months. At best it's an interesting lesson on how pundit predictions and our own social environments can act like echochambers. At worst it is the end of human civilization...But let's not jump to conclusions. The people have spoken. Let's see how much Trump can actually improve the lives of Americans :)

  9. It probably won't sway your opinion if you are an unemployed coal miner from Kentucky, but I found this podcast episode ("The Lesser Evil") by Sam Harris quite interesting: https://www.samharris.org/podcast/item/the-lesser-evil He discusses the candidates with another intellectual and they explain why one of them is the less bad option.

I also read an article by a writer living in NYC who went to his hometown in rural America and explains at this example why there are a lot of people voting for Trump. I cannot find it right now but that was refreshing to see someone put themselves in the other side's shoes instead of plain bashing...

  10. I finished the campaign the other day - good fun. It's a game I didn't enjoy for the storyline and epic set-pieces but for the sheer fun of clearing one arena after the next. Cycling through your arsenal, timing the use of power-ups, using the layout of the room to your advantage - it felt like clearing the stages of a puzzle game that comes in an extremely visceral packaging (and with a shotgun). I got my money's worth without having played the MP. Disclaimer: I bought the game when it was 50% off, because I am a cheap cunt.

    Hi,

Long-time lurker here, also 2+ years and counting AAA experience as an Environment Artist, I've worked on The Division, and the Underground DLC. For the curious, I'm self-taught, so to the hopefuls - yeah it can be done, just be good at what you do and never stop bugging studios for jobs :)

You can check out some of my work @ Artstation

    Welcome! :)

Very impressed by the gameplay demo, artistically impressive and majestic in size.

It seemed boring though, guess these games are just too big for me to actually play them; AI seemed non-existent :/

This is a pre-alpha build showing off new features and is not representative of the final gameplay. There is still a lot of work to be done especially on AI.

EDIT: Here is an honest behind-the-scenes video of the days leading up to Citizencon including info on why the Squadron 42 demo was postponed last-minute:
