yeah good job rulfy

Having to use models for details in HL2 is a step in the right direction, and it's the first, not the last.
Nice one texture-boy. It still sucks for mappers with no modeling skills

-
Yeah the coloured version looks very cool.
-
Well this sounds like UT2k3 to me.

If a game passes the mapcore test, it can do your maths homework and brings you the newspaper in the morning

-
most valuable thing you could learn for hl2 mapping is max/maya
Which objects have to be modeled and which in the editor?
-
I like DD's desktop (especially the lovely arranged "game developers magazin", just for pr0z plz!!!11)

I think the idea isn't bad, but in my opinion the theme (alternate world) doesn't really fit to the action MOD TS which is set in a realistic/our world.
-
I can handle UnrealEd, it's Maya/3dsmax that I can't and that makes mapping for the Unreal engine unattractive to me since you are screwed if you want to be inventive and can't create own static meshes. I think it will come the time when all mappers need to have skills in modeling progs, I just refuse to believe that this is already now

Oh and concerning the other topic:
http://www.planetunreal.com/architectonic
Both good sites for tutorials and the forums are great for getting answers on UnrealEd related questions.

I'm asking myself what working for a game company really is like. I mean working as a programmer, artist or something, I don't mean the woman cleaning the offices. Is it really a 24/7 job or do some people exaggerate?
