I was very interested in this case (and still am), read all the press coverage, including the press report by the police AND by Crytek, and wasn't aware of Crytek spreading false information (or at least like this it seems so).
Personally I think the whole case is not "that" upsetting, since Crytek isn't Blizzard or ID Software which are companies having released several bestsellers before. On the other hand their game Farcry will most likely be a hit, so they should be able to get the money for the software.
I am 99% sure that this guy, "Ritual", is from a games company and wants to displace a competetor, or at least badmouth it. If he was really just a "customer", he wouldn't give a fuck about how the game was produced...or he works for Discreet
