  1. I grew up in a town with ~18.000 citizens but a city with 325.000 is just 20 minutes away by car. Plus there are small villages and towns scattered throughout the area in between, so it never felt like being "isolated". If you are European and not from a village with less than 500 souls, I won't take you seriously
  2. I like where you're going with this scene and I like your portfolio. A few comments regarding it: Downloading of screenshots seems to be broken. If there is a provider that allows you to embed high-res videos, and not too much work to implement, I'd go with that (instead of vimeo). Bigger versions of the screenshots would be nice to see. Individual renders of your best art assets would be interesting. Keep up the good work!
  3. Yeps sorry, got carried away… but there's people catching up on Breaking Bad or 24 so I'm not that late to the party I'm surprised there's not more talk about it/still has to catch up. Admittedly it is a good show *pets the blackdog*
  4. This thread is now about blackdog and his experiences with old Homeland seasons.
  5. I've never said 'thanks' for the key, Mino, so here goes: Dankeschön!! I've played 30+ matches, even bought a hero and haven't played LoL since. To be fair, even though both are MOBAs, they play very different. HOTS is a good example of Blizzard innovating an existing game formula by removing everything tedious and too complicated and giving it a slightly different spin. Arguing over who takes what hero is eleminated by choosing before game matching. Walking long distances isn't fun, that's why they added mounts. Skill trees are more accessible and straightforward than item shops. I like the mercenary camps, but I'm not decided on the map-specific gimmicks yet. Often I feel like there is too much going on at a time, but man, prototyping these map ideas must have been fun The game feels pretty polished already for an "Alpha" but I'm sure there's still plenty of work on the balancing to be done. I even installed the game on my Ultrabook that I took to my parents over Christmas. Sadly that didn't run so well, so I downloaded Hearthstone on my iPad and I'm back to that for the time being. Looking forward to what the Closted Beta Phase will bring though!
  6. A walk among the tombstones - 8/10 The Loft - 7/10
  7. Cool, I've just been there in October. Let me know if you need somebody to tell you that the level's alleys are still too wide and there are not enough stairs and donkeys to match the real Santorini experience. How about, did you take any high resolution photographs? ;p I did! But most of them have my ugly mug on display so I'm afraid they won't be of much help

  10. That seems like the perfect place for an introvert person who just wants to code videogames in peace.

    HATRED

I was about to write a long post about this whole mess and then realized that I'd just be playing into the hands of the devs (just like everybody else from Polygon to Valve). Just don't talk about it anymore. Ignore it.
  13. That is the saddest thing I've ever heard.
  14. Or buy a fashionable item in the official MapCore store for +10 inspiration!
  15. Looks good but also very slow? Did you slow down the video or is this the normal speed of the gameplay? Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!
  16. Show what you currently have to others and figure out if it's worth continuing. You'll either get a motivational boost to continue it or scrap it. Sometimes being freed to start fresh is motivation enough. Playing games and looking at other mappers work can work, too. But when the skill gap is too big you will likely get the opposite result.
  17. Not going into detail about layout etc. but these are some of the most memorable maps to me. Often a little gimmicky but it's the maps we've had the most fun in back in the day.
  18. I remember some of those maps! Welcome!

    DOTA 2

I googled for "Pudge Wars" to find out what it is all about and noticed that a version exists for DotA2: http://d2pudgewars.com/
  20. It's like they made the same movie again lol
  21. I don't know guys... http://io9.com/terminator-genisys-insane-plot-reveal-is-a-total-nightm-1652315938
  22. Coincidentally I watched episode 5 a couple of nights ago, I'll look forward to the sixth It was pretty over-hyped tbh, I mean it's a nice twist but it wasn't so massive imho. Anyway, still enjoyable.. classic Homeland. Thanks to you bros, I checked out the new season and I'm enjoying it. Last year I laughed at the idea of but it's working.
  23. Congrats, Chris! Fortnite is looking very cool! Updated your entry (and mine - started at GGS yesterday).
