  1. Looks...amazing?! I was wondering why nobody is doing a game based on the fight against the cartels.

    E3 hype!

New game by Crytek: http://www.robinsonthegame.com/ Curious to see the big news on Hourences' seemingly similar game.

    Microsoft's new franchise leaked early:

    Doom (4)

OK the 'hell' demo is looking really cool.

    Doom (4)

Regarding the demo: It's Doom with gore and effects dialed up to 11. Not much new here but it sure does look smooth and pretty. I love the "OOOMPH" in every animation and effect. I had to cringe when the fanboys cheered about the gore though. The ripped off arm to open a door is probably the oldest trick in the book (echo sequence was cool tho)

    Oculus Rift

Yea this is going to completely rely on word-of-mouth and trying it out yourself in a store or at your friend's place. In the case you mentioned, personally, I have a bigger problem getting excited about VR in games that are not first-person.
  7. 9 hours each day since release? Hardcore!
  8. hmm I have a decent PC so a Steam machine purchase is not a the top of my list. I'm considering to get a PS4, but a Steam Link and controller might be a better/cheaper alternative. Interesting!
  9. Getting warmer!
  10. Merged your thread into this one here. Wasn't it pinned yet or did somebody unpin it? Anyway, welcome leading 3D animation, game design, visual effects and post-production company "Pixelhunters"!
  11. Judging by the UI this is probably a mobile game? Looks cool from what little there is to see right now. Multiplayer?
  12. Sounds good to me. Interesting name, too. I'm wondering what idea came in 2nd... "ius primae noctis" maybe?
  13. They aren't getting my money before they've added Crossfire tho...
  14. This is where it all started for me. Enjoy!!!
  15. Is this a on studio/campus job? Yep.
  16. In short: No, I cannot, sorry.
  17. Pro Tip: Don't say yes before he has offered you the Lambo.
  18. Hey guys, we're working on a game in UE4 and we're looking into the possibility of adding a Junior Level Designer to our team who can help us building more levels. Because this gets asked again and again: you don't need any modeling or texturing experience (the artists will take care of this) but having built levels in UDK/UE4 before is a strong plus. This has just been brought up, so there is no job posting (yet). I can't tell you anything about the game, but what I can tell you is that we're a new studio within Goodgame Studios, mostly comprised of devs who previously worked at AAA studios such as Carbine, Crytek, Yager, Ubisoft... We're working on a hardcore F2P downloadable client game and we are going to kick ass. If you're interested, please send a link to your portfolio and a resume to fbode at goodgamestudios.com and I'll see what I can do. XOXO -Frie
  19. Holy moly....that is looking even better in motion. Would you consider releasing the assets for designers to use in their levels? Or would that be pointless because the assets are not prepared for this?
  20. Amazing art assets and engine capabilities. Now give us a gameplay trailer plz. Speaking of which: I've never played the original Battlefront. Did it have playable Jedi/Sith classes (as they are being teased here)? EDIT: Nevermind. Sounds like it will have hero characters like the original Battlefront. These two have already seen the gameplay trailer and talk about it here: https://youtu.be/xESY-IA8pZk

    Star Wars

I was smiling so hard at the end of that teaser
  22. Thanks for providing information on the big picture (no pun intended), Thrik! @jacko: to make the selection process even harder?
  23. Thanks, Chris! I'm also warming up to the idea to get a 4k. It is the direction things are moving and makes my purchase future-ready. Plus, as you said, prices aren't outrageous anymore. I'm eyeing this one right now: http://www.amazon.de/LG-49UB850V-LED-Backlight-Fernseher-Wireless-LAN-schwarz/dp/B00JGKKX2K
  24. The distance won't be that big: ~3 meters. I took a look at some screens in a store today and while those 55" TVs look tempting I'm afraid they will appear huge in that narrow living room of ours. 40"-47" will probably be enough. At first this passage didn't make much sense to me, but after doing a little research on the different technologies, I understand what you mean. Thanks! 3D isn't important to me and I can certainly live without apps on my TV. But as you said, most of these gimmicks come with every new TV anyway nowadays. As far as 4k and curved displays are concerned, I'm not convinced that the extra-costs justify them. The Samsung TV UE48H6270 or UE48H6470 seem appealing to me. Thanks for the advice!
  25. Hey folks, I'd like to buy a TV and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on brand, type (LCD? LED?), features (3D?) etc. ? Anybody made a purchase recently that they are extremely happy/unhappy with? I'm pretty much clueless what recent developments in TV technology are concerned, so any advice is appreciated. Needless to say, aside from watching TV, gaming will be done on that screen
