Wow, Satisfactory has me hooked. There are too many things I want to be occupied in, and I keep jumping from one thing to another. In the midst of that noise, Satisfactory managed to grab my attention. It's just that urge to complete short objectives in the game, and trying to do it through manual labour, then finding the bottlenecks, and building systems to release that bottleneck. It's immersive especially because it's an FPS. I just wish it had usable controller support, so I could lie back and play it while listening to a podcast or an audiobook. It's a builder-planner game, but with the same chill-factor as Euro Truck Simulator 2. It's not even expensive!

Hi Mapcore, this is a dump of multiple PBR materials I've worked on lately.

All the materials are authored in PBR at 2k. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 4.

The first three pics show some tileables I've recently made for de_prime.

I'm closing this thread as it has outlived its initial usefulness and has been reduced to mostly personal attacks and misinformation, neither of which have a place on Mapcore.
If any mods disagree with my decision feel free to open up a discussion in the Staff section of the forum.

Between 1990 and 1996 i lived in a house together with my family and it was the period of my life that i remember most fondly.
We got a Super Nintendo while we lived there and after my mother and step-father broke up and we sold the house life kind of went spiraling downwards. By 2004 My grandmother and grandfather died of cancer, my father had commited suicide and my mother started abusing heavy drugs.
All i ever really wanted was to find the same stability and family-life i had as a kid.
My kids mother (we were together between 2004 and 2012) destroyed my hope for women but i got two amazing kids out of that relationship.
I met a woman through internet after years of terrible dates and extremly low self-esteem. I remember thinking when i first saw her that "she is waaay out of my League". Fast forward and this weekend we moved into a house, on the same street i grew up on. I would never have dreamt of this in a million years and i get all teared up watching my daughters playing Sim City on the SNES mini.
Sorry for the rant but i never thought a game i played as a kid could make me feel this way today.

As @FMPONEsaid, The White Lotus is excellent!

Season 3 of the TV show, What we do in the shadows came out too, so that's a nice watch if you like that kind of funny.

Bad Genius is a nice Thai movie

Love on the Spectrum is a nice heartwarming, wholesome Netflix show of people on the autism spectrum, dating.

Succession Season 3 is nearly here, which I found to be damn funny and whacked.

Wow. This show is fucking hilarious and crazy. Between this and Squid Game, I've really been enjoying the last few months of television.

So I decided to leave the medical tech industry a few months back and take some time off. I was a little burned out working at a startup and have had an unprecedented amount of family and friend deaths in the last year (covid/suicide) I just needed a break so I could stop treading water trying to deal with all this stuff.
It's been pretty nice and I've finally had time to do stuff like read non-academic books, playing video games, studying math and going to school for Japanese. I'm also getting a lot more exercise. Even entered a game jam for the first time in 4 years. Finally I started tinkering with Unity. I used unity about 8 years ago and wasn't much of a fan of it but I decided to give it another go and it's come a long way.
Thinking about getting a license for Houdini, I used it a couple years ago and absolutely loved it. It's been well over 10 years now since I started programming and not doing art/design every day and it's so cool to see how all the 3d tools have advanced.
Anyways I'll be re-joining the games industry again in a few weeks. All good things must come to an end

I have my own company, but it's almost always been on more of a hobby/side-project basis except for shorter periods of full time focus and/or consultancies. I've been with my last employer for 3 years. I actually got a new job offer yesterday! It's weird to just get job offers without applications or proper interview processes, but it's always been like that for me. Jobs I actually apply for, I typically never hear back from.
Still skateboarding, but I am missing a few ligaments here and there and I am turning 32 tomorrow, so my body isn't what it used to be even though I am physically fit. I do a mix of skateboarding, boulder, bike and yoga. Anything that keeps me out of a traditional gym.

A lot of people heres have had some real tough stuff to deal with. So sorry for people who have lost loved ones or, say, have been in the hospital (Klein glad you are recovering from multiple things) as an example.
By comparison we have had it easy since my wife and I are both employed, but home schooling two elementary school age kids is brutally tough, even with the "improved" distance learning that started this month compared to end of last academic year in Q2.
Honestly I just come here to read about what's going on with familiar people that I've known (mostly virtually) for up to 15+ years. HOLY HELL mapcore is that old?  Where are my reading glasses? Get those teenagers off my lawn! By garrr...it's been a while....
