  1. Aye, heard a bunch of people at E3 talking about this being a potential dark horse for 2014, but I haven't really paid that much attention to it. Gonna pick it up next week~~
  2. http://kotaku.com/heres-what-blizzards-titan-actually-was-1638632121 It's Kotaku, so grain of salt etc.
  3. Yeah they're great~~ BTW a brilliant feature of Mount Your Friends is that you can import your own faces. I ended up grabbing images of 7 people last time but it was totally worth it, makes way more hilarious when it's people's actual faces that are positioned under somebody elses junk
  4. Been having A LOT of local multiplayer nights over the last year or so, these are mainly competitive but they're awesome! (and they're all on Steam) TowerFall Gang Beasts Mount Your Friends Samurai Gunn Nidhogg Haven't tried ScreenCheat yet, but it looks pretty sweet
  5. They've officially cancelled the project now. http://www.polygon.com/2014/9/23/6833953/blizzard-cancels-titan-next-gen-mmo-pc Really must suck if you've been there for all those 7 years (or even as some of our Core folks that have worked on it for years), but part of me also like that they're willing to take these kinds of tough decision when it just isn't coming together. Hopefully something great will emerge from this~~

    Metal Gear Solid 5

Kojima is so generous to the cosplay community by getting a character designed for them from the ground up. So incredibly dumb. Anyway, game looks dope, loving how diverse the environment seems like they'll be, getting a bit of Snake Eater in there~~the animation on that decoy throw tho, lmfao...

  9. Finally got around and started doing some actual work on this map rather than just going around and kicking the tires of the editor, still a bunch of stuff I'm not entirely sure about, but I guess that's part of the fun of this challenge . So super duper very very early WIP etc, going for a super quick and dirty mockup first just to get the overall flow in place. Theme wise I'm kinda thinking of a slick and clean residential area, lots of open spaces and small tight backalleys, trying to get a lot of odd angles and not stay too much on grid, and that bridge looking thing is supposed to be a New York Highline like structure going through the entire level as a point of reference for the player. Anyway, super early, I kinda have my doubts that I'll actually have time to finish this for the 29th when I'm going in this late
  10. Okay, trying to get into this stuff now and I already have a probably insanely dumb question, but how the hell do you vertex snap in geometry editing mode? (As in snapping a vertex from one brush to another, not moving the entire brush) Tried searching for it and all I can find are custom scripts that does it, but it must be possible to do in the standard editor, right?
  11. Saw Edge of Tomorrow, waaaaay better than I expected (tho granted I went in with fairly low expectations).

    Destiny

Finished the rest of the story missions earlier today. I've enjoyed my time with it and I'm going to go through the Strikes that I haven't tried already and check them out and give the Crucible a more thorough run, but beyond that then I kinda already feel like I've had enough of it for now. It's a solid shooter with a lots of polish on the presentation side of things, but doubling down on making it loot focused where all missions are exactly the same (shoot your way through hordes of nearly identical behaving enemies until you reach a terminal) ended up feeling like a poor move to me. The main draw for me in the Halo games have always been the core combat loop, running outta ammo and experimenting and improvising with all kinds of random weapons, having the diverse behaving enemy types of Halo and terrific pacing in terms of adding vehicle sections to break the monotony of just running around on foot all the time. Obviously this shouldn't be a precise copy of Halo, but when they've gone from Halo which is actually one of the few shooters that feels quite diverse compared to most other shooters around, and the end result is a solid enough shooter but one that also ends up playing like a surprisingly plain shooter with just a sprinkle of that "Bungie" essence then I can't help feeling a bit disappointed. And it does fall victim to what I feared after playing the beta, it feels really light on content and variation, to the extent where it feels like it could've easily have used 6-12 months more dev time to spice up the experience and make it feels just a tad less copy/pasty Anyway, I bet it's going to be one of those games where the sequel will end up being everything they actually wanted it to be, which isn't the worst spot to be in when it's the fastest selling new IP to date

  14. If it turns out to be true, then the only surprising thing about this is how he came off as being super holy and indie like in regards to Facebook buying Oculus VR and being disgusted with them selling out, only to basically do the exact same thing himself a month or so later. I have no problem with him being against Facebook buying Oculus, but it's pretty hypocritical for him to go through with this kind of thing then, especially if this deal was underway at the time of that comment. Anyway, for 2 billion dollaz you'd be insane not to sell it now, seriously doubt he'll ever get a better deal than that.

    Destiny

Hah yeah, got to that one just after you left yesterday, tho it was my buddy who joined in who grabbed it and fucking reigned death all around
  16. Subscribed to UE4 yesterday and have a rough layout scribbled together, now I just need the most important ingredient; time D: Good looking stuff gang, going with the whitebox approach was definitely the way to go, feels a lot more refreshing to have it be all about the gameplay~~
  17. Fucking swank lads! Oh and I remember being teeeeerrrriiiiiibbble at this map D:

    Destiny

Aye, quite looking forward to it, the beta convinced me that it'll at the very least be some good fun goofing around in co-op while shooting the shits over chat. I'm still hoping that there's at least a tiny bit of variation from the bread and butter missions shown in the beta tho. I also hope the PvP will make a stronger impression in the full game than it did in the beta. I'm mainly getting it for the co-op, but I assume it'll be even better if you buy into the PvP in terms of metagame/lootfest.
  19. LOVE how that looks! Couldn't get any of the controls stuff you were talking about working tho
  20. Well shit, this is as good a reason as any to get into this UE4 thing
  21. Aww man, was in the mood for a dumb action flick so I watched The Rock again for the first time in like nearly a decade, still holds up amazingly well! Such a dumb but super tight and fun movie. Only good movie that Michael Bay has made (well, that and Bad Boys maybe)
  22. Minos, so hot right now. Minos.
  23. Amazing stuff dude~~~too bad about the Mapcore sign tho
