    The Jurassic World

Yup, looks pretty horrible D: After that trailer I'd rather just go back and watch the original again, it's probably nearly a decade since the last time I saw that

    Far Cry 4

Had limited time for games yesterday, but I loaded this up as well and played it for an hour. Like you guys are saying then it's definitely more of the same, but that's not a bad thing for the most part. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about the first person platforming when climbing the towers tho, was never the biggest fan of it in 3, and it does tend to feel kinda awkward (like 1st person platforming often does). Anyway, looking forward to spending more time with it, seems like yet another game recently that you can sink in a lot of time into.

    GTA V

I might be weird, but I actually think 1st person makes it fun to drive legally for the first time ever in a GTA game...well, once in a while It does feel pretty twitchy to drive in 1st person tho.
  4. Was pretty good. I'm not really as blown away by it as most of you, but it had some really awesome sci-fi ideas and I like how it tackles ideas and concepts that can be pretty hard to wrap your brain around in fairly accessible ways. Plus when a movie is nearly 3 hours long and it feels like time passes by extremely quickly then that's a pretty good sign
  5. I get most of the complaints that are being thrown at this game, it does feel like it could at least have used another month or two in the oven. However I'm actually really enjoying it, though it was something of a slow burn, and it's primarily because it just looks absolutely gorgeous, which makes exploring the environment and finding chests and that kind of stuff more fun. I am playing it on the PS4, so the frame rate isn't exactly great, but it's still totally playable and in some ways I kinda like that they went for it, having incredibly detailed environments, crazy amounts of characters on screen and some pretty impressive draw distances, though I suppose it isn't exactly impressive when it runs like it does Anyway, I'm also an old idiot that often likes just walking around and looking at the environment in games like GTA V, so on that end it totally delivers for me, just going around and checking out all the custom animations and work that's been put into characters, and sure it's the same old tired AC gameplay, but for the most part they've a bunch of minor adjustments to it to make it less awful. Also for once they've actually managed to make a balance economy in an AC game, which actually makes doing side quests worth while. TL;DR It's worth getting if you just wanna walk around and look at shit, lmfao.

    Overwatch

First new Blizzard IP in, what? 15 years? http://eu.battle.net/overwatch/en/ Looks pretty dope, I think Blizzard doing a TF2 style team based game is a good match (with all dem other eSportsy games they're doing). I assume this is the action portion of Titan, and that a bunch of BlizzCore are working on this

    GTA V

Awwww yissssssss!!~~ Visually it does look better, but the extra pedestrians/wildlife definitely look like it'll be the biggest improvement~
  10. Quite liking it so far, both the SP and MP. I donno why but I like the prerendered cutscenes, they land in some weird spot slightly beyond (or before?) the uncanny valley for me, and they kinda give me a Command & Conquer vibe in that I wanna see the next one, though it's not that the story seems particularly inspired. But for what it's worth then I also think it's by far the best SP COD since at least Black Ops, and possibly COD4. Some really cool missions here and there, and it seems like they acknowledge that they need to keep the core shooting to a minimum, since that gets old fairly quickly, and primarily focus on doing cool gadget based shit. Really liking most of the MP maps too. I got totally wiped in my first two games, being at the very bottom of the score board, but then managed to totally turn it around and destroyed the 13 year old german kids I was playing against for the next 5 matches and ended in the 1st and 2nd best every time, good stuff But yeah, definitely has more of a fresh feel than what COD games have had for the last bunch of years, being able to do small strafe dodges and double jumps feels like a good fit (and actually I don't miss the Titanfall wall runs too much).

    Sunset Overdrive

I love Crackdown, but in a lot of ways I'd say that I like this more. It doesn't have that satisfying orb hum, but it the traversal just feels so much more satisfying when you really get the hang of it, where as Crackdown felt a bit rough even back then.

    GTA V

FPS mode, pretty cool~~donno how much I'll end using it tho
  13. Yeah, got it as well for PS4. Really in the mood for something like COD right now, good dumb shooter action, probably helps that I skipped Ghosts and that this is getting pretty good reviews~~

    Sunset Overdrive

Finished it earlier today and I've been playing it somewhat intensely over the weekend, really awesome game. The humour falls somewhat flat for me most of the time, but I do like it's campy and wacky style, and besides it just serves to make the things you do while playing it feel strangely natural. It really starts out slow, but after a few hours (and some crucial movement unlocks) then it becomes absolutely amazing to traverse through the city, chaining grinds, bounces and wall runs all over the player (all while shooting bad guys at the same time). It really feels like the perfect blend of Crackdown and Jet Set Radio, in that it controls way smoother and better than either of those. It also just looks absolutely gorgeous, it's so great to play something that isn't afraid to be incredibly colourful, especially after playing Alien and SoM prior to this. Anyway, starting to feel really happy that I bought an Xbox One about a month back, this is probably my favourite game this year after Shadow of Mordor.

    Alien: Isolation

http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=alien%3A+isolation&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200 It's not that VGchartz is a 100% accurate, but usually they seem to be in the rough ballpark, and those seem like some pretty dire sales a month after release for a production of this size (I'd guess it's at least 1 mil to break even). So, yeah, wouldn't surprise me if a sequel is off the table based on this. I really hope not tho, like I've said previously then there's enormous potential in Isolation for making a much better sequel.
  17. Well, the precise quote is that it won't have the same depth as on PC and current gen consoles http://www.gamespot.com/articles/one-of-shadow-of-mordor-s-most-ambitious-features-scaled-back-for-xbox-360-ps3/1100-6417861/ So I guess there will be some Nemesis system, just not the one found on the newer platforms (probably all scripted, as opposed to the emergent awesomeness found on other platforms).
  18. It's probably worth mentioning that the PS3 and 360 version doesn't include the Nemesis system, which is by far the biggest draw of this game IMO. Oh and this was the first Playstation game where I got 100% trophies, plus it was really fun doing it~~
  19. If it's your first go at the series then I'd go with Civ 5, it's not that BE is super hardcore or anything, but I'd reckon that Civ 5 is more beginner friendly.
  20. Yeah, it's pretty damn intimidating at first, but you just gotta power through it The tech web does feel like what it'd be like to play one of the regular Civ games for the first time for a person that had no knowledge of history either They probably could've worked on making a bit more user friendly. Though there are filters to help highlight certain tech, and there are advisor recommendations, then I doubt anyone will load it up for the first time and not be fairly confused by it.
  21. Loving this game~~~wasn't feeling it when I started playing it Friday evening tho, but after restarting my game Saturday morning (and then spending a following straight 14 hours playing it) then it really clicked. It's definitely more Civ, but there's still a fair amount of changes and I really like most of the ones they've made, streamlining and adding stuff in clever places, such greatly simplifying and encouraging trade, limiting the number of unit types and adding XCOM like unit upgrade choices via affinity upgrades where it's actually difficult to pick one over the other. The miasma can be pretty damn annoying at first, but it does add an interesting additional layer of complexity, both in terms of combat and where to expand your colony. The tech web is incredibly confusing at first (I spent like 15 minutes just reading up on everything when I first started it up ), but it also feels like the kind of thing where you'll make a few mistakes on your first playthrough, and now after 20 hours I feel much more clear on which route to go depending on my overall strategy. Also looks and sounds fantastic (though I'd almost say that the score is too epic sometimes ). Anyway, game fucking rocks!

    Alien: Isolation

Finally finished it, it's not a bad game but I find it pretty damn hard to love it. The peak of the entire game is still the medical facility, which only makes me wish that the game had been perhaps 4-5 of those kinds of moments and experiences with some traversal, exploration and minor human/android encounters to bind it together. I can't help but keep hitting on this over again and again, but to me it feels like they've got most of the building blocks in place to make the perfect Alien game, but stretched themselves thin and just didn't manage to fit it together in an elegant and seamless way, and to use the cliché then they went for quantity over quality. It's still the best Alien game ever, but it could've been so much better.
  23. Sequels for Red Dead Redemption, Mario Galaxy and No One Lives Forever, pls~~~
  24. VARIE EXERCISED FOR DIS FREIDAIEE!!!!
  25. Been playing Desert Golfing on iOS daily for the last month or so, really digging it. I know it looks awfully basic and somewhat unimaginative, but there's a surprising amount of depth in the way it plays and controls, plus it works brilliantly for both quick <1 minute sessions and to play for like 30 minutes. Then there's also a bunch of surprises scattered around way into the game, and there's a lot of levels (donno if it just keeps going endlessly, but it supposedly flats out at around hole 3000).
