I think portal is the best choice, puzzle design is more interesting than stunning visuals, which not everyone has the skills or time to pull off.

I'm using photoshop to make some sprites for a little project of mine.

But the sprites dont have alpha transparency, its just one color that is transparent. (like HL1 textures)

What is the best way for keeping my edges crisp and pixely, without using the pencil tool for everything, because I want things to blend, just not the edge of shapes.
