  1. Hi :) good portfolio!

I have to say, I didn't notice the video link - as Marvin said make the link visual

I also like to see a little about why you made the level or what the objectives are - a bit of text doesn't go astray

GUNZ! RAZORZ! KNIVEZ! isn't a great name for a video link from a portfolio ;)

Cubes looks like an amazingly fun level after watching the video, but your portfolio doesn't show that - so a description of why you made it and/or maybe some comments from some of the people who playtested / judged the comp probably wouldn't be out of place.

  2. Hey :)

Some of you may remember me from a long time ago. Long story short, I'm looking at getting into coding - I'd like to work mostly with games but have literally _NO_ idea where to start.

I've tried my hand at mapping, texturing, modelling.. found a niche in web development (PHP), but I'm over it and want something new.

So... languages, where to start, what to do first. I know most basic programming starts with a black screen and hello world, but I like to pick things apart to find how they work.

Cheers in advance and a big hello to any who remember me ;D!

edit: also lol @ still having Moderator in my profile :D:ninja:

  3. I love it zaph :D

All the work i have seen so far is amazing! I'm jealous :)

My only crit, and its probably very picky.. i think the lines on the road at too wide. When I watch the video, all i see is those lines. Just me though :)

  4. I work with children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old, and the answer is a resounding yes. There are many children these days who are raised by their TV's instead of having toys and playing outside they are stuck in front of a TV, causing childhood obesity and short attention spans, due to commercial breaks, their attention is broken from what they were watching.

Children will always role-play (not D&D though :)) from a young age, regardless of TV, but children who regularly watch tv will enact their favorite characters such as Spiderman, Transformers, Batman, TMNT and the girl shows like My little Pony and care bears etc.

They also see characters who are rude and violent towards parents, parents who are rude and violent towards their children, and so much more, kids from a very young age are more and more sexual due to TV and music. Some parents are also very slack with what they allow their children to watch, such as children in grade 1 and 2 (7-8 years old) watching movies or shows that are not suitable, and their behaviour will be affected accordingly.

If a child constantly sees violence they will be violent

swearing, rude, destructive, sexual.. a child sees these, a child will be these.

A child is a sponge, and soaks up everything it sees and hears from a very young age.

I'm not saying all TV is bad. Some is educational, but all in all, yes, tv affects children's behaviour

    :)
