um....the state of israel has everything to do with the holocaust, jews were not "oppressed" in ww2 without a fight, you think they didnt fight? they were slaughtered, they were being exterminated. the state of israel was supposed to be a place jews could call home, a safe haven. while obviously there has been non stop conflict since its formation, these muslim-jew relations certainly did not start with israel, and it probably wont end. these events are not old in history, to say the holocaust does not hold reverance sixty years later is silly. now im not saying what these groups are doing to eachother actually has some sort of protagonist/antagonist. there is going to be no winner there, both stake claim in that land, and neither believe the other diserves to be there, so "what should i think" about this situation... to say that the israelis are more "right" than the palestinians or vice versa is folly. i think its a shame so many people have to die, but theres nothing you can really do about it.
