  1. Shacknews just posted an update on the patch.

    Far Cry Patch Recalled

Ubisoft let us know that the Far Cry 1.2 patch released a few days ago has been recalled. According to the publisher "Far Cry patch 1.2 has shown unexpected behaviour on specific hardware configurations. These matters are mainly due to incompatibilities with several optimisations brought lately to the code, with the intent to please a large number of users". CryTek is working on a fixed version of the update to be released "as soon as possible".

  2. Shacknews recently posted some info that some of you already know plus some other minor tid bits. Again pretty minor info, just figured i'd post it.

    Half-Life 2 Approaching

After checking directly with Gabe Newell at Valve Software to confirm this quote we've got a couple of pieces of news from Valve for you guys. Here's the quote from Gabe himself:

Right now we are looking at our bug numbers. Each day you fix some bugs and you find some new bugs. The net number tells you how quickly you will get to zero. At our current rate of find/fix bugs, we'll be down to zero bugs in 16 days.

In addition to that, word has come out that August 10th has been set as the tentative CS:Source beta program to begin. Keep in mind these timelines are not set in stone though. Thanks to HL2World for the tip.

  3. Alittle bit of info on the patch itself:

Ubisoft has released the Far Cry 1.2 patch, offering a slew of fixes and improvements for the Crytek first person shooter. And though not mentioned in the readme, the 65mb update adds Shader Model 3.0 support for GeForce 6-series of videocards. Here are some of the changes

    * Made the run speed about 15% faster

    * Made sprint last 30% longer

    * Adjusted damage to vehicles

    * Fixed a number of serious issues with headshot detection

    * Fixed some issues with ladder animations appearing odd to other players

    * Added quicksave support for single player (still in process)

    * Fixed a significant number of bugs relating to quicksave (~100 bugs)

    * Addressed a number of issues with the server list UI

    * Fixed a rendering issue with Radeon 9600 graphics cards

    (Thx Shacknews!)

  4. Ya, thats why i'm getting the BFG Tech 6800 GT OC, because it only at MINIMUM requires a 300W powersupply even though i have a 500W+ Powersupply, save 100 bucks and get better performance outta the GT vs the Ultra why not~~~ But ya the Ultra requires a minimum a 480W

Maybe instead of a Power Supply you could just run a car battery to it :D

  5. Just flip a coin :D side with 1 Tilde you go x800, side with 2 Tilde you go 6800U :), i already have a Powersupply that can support the 6800 so i'm not too worried :D The cards are so closely matched that i can see why you're torn between the two hehe :D good luck with your pick either way, FLIP THE TILDE COIN!

  6. *shrug* personally i've never had good luck with ATI cards, my next purchase will be a BFG Tech GeForce 6800 GT OC, which when over clocked is faster then the Ultra, yet 100 bucks less, and doesn't require any extra cooling, and only takes up 1 slot unlike the ultra. ++++ :D just a personal thing wewt
