    The random model thread!

This is a milestone for me. Finally created my first CS:GO Prop with the help of a lot of tutorials and some nice people on Discord. Thanks!

    What have you watched recently?

I still had it on VHS tape from 1997 until several years ago before I got rid of all my VHS collection.

    The random model thread!

I recently started learning how to model faces in Zbrush. I've always been afraid of organic modeling but it turns out it's not that hard. P.S. looks better when you squint.

    Deus Ex's 20th anniversary

There's this moment in the game where your fucking brother dies... on my, 3rd or 4th playthrough back in the day, I realize that you can save him after all, and the game changes massively as he talks to you and helps you via the infolink throughout the rest of the game, pretty much. Just an example of how far they really took the "choices matter" with this game, it's tangible

Sounds like something we should give a try, we run out of no-brainers atm. Sounds like a family friendly Ozark plot too ~ Speaking of which, just finished Ozark S3 last night, oh my oh my! I was expecting the finale outcome but not so sudden. The season veered a bit much into mental illness, but I’ve seen bipolars on meds and I think the acting performance by Tom Pelphrey (Ben) was impressive. Also watched The Wall, I’d describe it as a cheap version of Hurt Locker and I’d say watch it without watching the trailer that tries to make it more action than it is, it’s one of those slow-burn ones… very well executed imo. Also probably the best acting performance you’ll see by John Cena (you’ll get it when you see it)

Decided to fidget with Blender. My first 3D model in more than a decade, the DAC I use.

I snobbed Mars Attacks! in my youth cos I only wanted to watch serious stuff, especially sci-di wise. But was great to catch up with this cult classic

1917 was an incredible visual tour de force. my favourite scene the chase lit by flares. The music that goes with it was superb. I don’t think the trailer makes justice to the one-shot trickery I imagine we can all easily see where the camera actually cuts, but in the behind the scenes they show some more advanced shots and it’s impressive how they strived to do long shots even where they could have faked it (for eg they regularly put the camera on cranes from hand filming, and vice versa) The set models where they planned the shots are

    Deus Ex's 20th anniversary

After the sales of Dishonored2 and Prey (I still can't believe they called this game Prey, and not System Shock 3...) I doubt anyone wants to invest in "immersive sims" for the foreseeable future. I'm sure those games broke even, or maybe even made a decent profit. But Multiplayer and Microtransactions is where the real money's at, and publishers know it. The latter is way more dangerous than the former though, as it's a pandora's box that once open, you can't ever close it back up, not without some serious changes to the way you monetize your games, that is.
