So this friday I randomly ran into @General Vivi in the Overkill offices.Turned out he's grooming one of my students doing an internship. The world might be smaller than you think, but the games industry is smaller. Funny thing was we talked for about 15 mins before realizing 'who we were', haha!

Hi guys, I've been away some time and thought I'd share some stuff. I married the love of my life Became a house owner (mortgages, woo yay!) Started a new job Got a new cat called him Luther. Misty is the grumpy bag on the right. Got internet in said house 6 months later (ISPs, woo yay!) Got my dream car This year has also not been without its upsets, namely we lost a dear old Cockatiel of ours to illness at 16 years old, and his mate not long after to what we suspect was a ferret (long story ) who was sadly only 3. I hope no one takes this post the wrong way. I know I'm very fortunate to be where I am, and I would just like to share that happiness with friends and peers. The new job runs a slightly tighter ship than my last so mapcore time has tanked, but I'll hopefully be getting a bit more into the swing of things from now on. See you around guys

I remade the building that is Objective C today. Not fully done yet, but I'm pretty happy with how it's looking so far. At first, I planned to make this a small city hall, but during the process I changed it to a semi-fancy hotel building. Still not 100% sure if I'll stick with this or change it back. Time will tell Also tweaked the fog to be a bit less "in your face" as that was a clear feedback from the Sunday playtest. And here's a picture from inside the school building.

That's awesome! I bumped into Vivi at E3... I was walking in to the convention centre with some colleagues and all of a sudden I heard someone calling my name... I turned round and I was like errrm, who's this guy shouting my name? Then all of a sudden it clicked! It was awesome to finally put a face and a voice to the name I think Vivi is secretly stalking everyone on Mapcore. He's trying to assemble the Mapcore Avengers...

Okay so i updadet the map quite a bit, adding new features and routes. I hope i've fixed the bug where it crashes clients to desktop. (Sorry for crashes your stream, Xanthi) Here's the update notes from the workshop page + images of the new featurs

@poLemin Thanks for the update, but just to be clear, your map is the same item as the one currently on the playlist correct? Because if so, we won't need to take the item you linked and do anything, it should just automatically update.

Just got back from Japan for the 4th time now. Got a crapload of new photos for the level design inspiration machine. I'd consider living there again but probably only if I worked remotely for a company in a different country. They work you harder and pay less there (for programmers).

Just moved to a new apartment. still getting everything sorted. All in all, only things that went wrong were breaking my cell phone (replaced), and issues with washer/dryer delivery that I am taking care of today. I expect to be back doing design and 3D in the next few days.

Consoles, CoD, UbiSoft and Pre Orders are still shit. Origin is ok. Not the best, not the worst, it does a good enough job. At least it isn't covered in shitty Anime school girl paedo dating bullshit games.

I've shipped my first AAA game this week yeaaaaaaah !!! Gear Club is available on iOS. So proud!

I used blenders simulate cloth tool, then tweaked with sculpting stuff. High poly made the bump map while low poly was achieved by using a decimate modifier. As for the plastic material, it mostly relies on Phong and a small bit of reflection, and barely any texture at all.. GLHF

I just put in my resignation at work and will leave in about a month back to Britanny in France, as while Germany had some perks, my current commute time, work hours, and renovations were creating a whirlwind of stress and lack of energy, and were damaging my relationship with my wife almost beyond the point of no return. I started trying to come up with a plan to be able to move back home with family and friends, and out of the blue a neighbor showed up at my doorstep and asked if I was selling my house. Turns out he owns a restaurant across the street, will retire next year, and wants the house to turn half of the garden into parking spots for his restaurant, otherwise German law says he cannot rent it and so he'd lose a lot of money over time. So everyone's happy, I don't have to finish the renovations (big load off my back and cuts down on further investments I'd have to make to properly finish it and make it easy to sell), got a good price for it given the state it's in, and 2 weeks after he showed up I've got a contract in hand and am signing it tomorrow afternoon. I'll try to work from home, the area I was raised in doesn't have ANY game companies, but the immediate focus will be climbing back up the hill for my couple and catching up a bit with my kids too. Also being back to the ocean is gonna be awesome, I never really knew what to do with my family around here where there's only forests and hills. The plan is to move back to this area, kinda close to family but still not at the very tip of Britanny where driving to anywhere in Europe takes 5 more hours.

It's Monday morning and whilst driving to work a stone got flicked up and hit my windscreen. Now I have a nice chip in my windscreen which may just be a little too big to be repaired. Screw Mondays.
