Haven't found any new map crashes after fixing the aforementioned one that ended two playtests so I've taken the time in between submitting for a new one eventually to spruce up a few of the buildings while Quoting made some changes to the layout at mid. Updated overview will be up soon as well.6 points

By the way, we are looking for another architecture artist. This entails taking level design blockouts from start to finish and BSP mapping experience is a plus Apply here: http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/posting.html?id=16000RB2 points

After a ridiculous 24 hours awake I've uploaded our Git repository with movement, river currents, megascans, light, medium, and heavy rain, wind mists VFX, and cleaned up code. We've also purchased a server on Amazon and got networking running on that. Feels nice to have the project coming along guys. The plan for the rest of the month includes incorporating the following systems into the game. They will then be refined as we test our gameplay. 01. Advancement Movement Mechanics 02. Bird Life 03. Spawning 04. Inventory system 05. Building system2 points -

January 5th 2018 Update: THE MAP IS NOW RELEASED (post here) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1258599704 OLD POST: Hey guys! As a lot of you already know, I'm working on bringing CS_AGENCY into the world of bomb defusal (and I have for quite some time...). The only problem is that I've basically made a new map instead so I'm gonna rename this at a later stage. The theme is a corporate campus (think Googleplex / facebook HQ). I'll try to get art assistance to help me prettify it soon. The map will be playtested tonight (September 8th) on the public playtesting server (10vs10)! Everything is mockup only right now, but I thought I'd share some screens anyway and use this thread to share progress, vent about shit and get your juicy feedback. Main entrance, T spawn A site (pillars beneath the HQ) B site (server room) Mid1 point

Yo what is your problem? I told u guys twice now to quit the discussion. The name was a accidant in the first place and got changed without a complain. Whats ur goal to feed the discussion? You think you will reach anything? No you dont becoz people will either be with you or against you without reaching anything except maybe some egologic ideas about the fact that people may back u up and u can tell us your non important knowledge about stuff thats not relevant (anymore) to this topic. So again guys stop the discussion about this subject. Go do what u guys do best and give me constructive feedback about the map instead. I thank you in advance!1 point

Really, the proper solution is to kill the exploitable problem in the first place. I don't have the kind of hitbox issues in any other game I play. I dunno if Source 2 fixes them by using more reliable bounding boxes or something, but I hope so. Some of the historical stuff Valve's still invested in is good, like BSP, but some areas other companies have made a lot of legit progress in, like online systems.1 point -
I'm not so sure about CS being completely fictional. Many of the maps and factions are based very closely to real scenarios and organizations. The only difference is the removal of insignia really. One good example would be the "Separatists" which I'm sure any Spanish person is familiar with. The Phoenix Connexion also used to have Croatian flag patches in the official game art, pretty clearly eluding to them being Ustase. Anyways with that being said I agree it's not right to outright recreate awful terror attacks in CS, but on the other hand it shouldn't stop us from mapping altogether. Crazy psychopaths have killed, bombed, etc in pretty much every country/location in the world and if we didn't want to remind people of that, we wouldn't be making maps in a game about terrorism. I think Pulse was definitely too provocative of a name, but it wouldn't be right to ditch the map theme altogether, because that would mean nobody could make maps about public transit, france (and europe in general now :/ ), the middle east, tall buildings, etc.1 point

Battlefield 1
Jetsetlemming reacted to El_Exodus for a topic
Sorry for the double post: So apparently, there won't be any rentable servers as we used to know them from the former Battlefield titles. Instead they will be rented through EA similar to how the servers worked on consoles. This means no access to all of the server values and no Admin Tools like Procon (correct me if i'm wrong). It's a pretty big step backwards if you ask me. I get the reason (preventing annoying server plugins like e.g. weapon limits) but there are other ways to achieve this. Just like in CS:GO for example, there could be a seperate server browser where these types of servers are allowed. I liked being able to play on some "special" servers every now and then Pre-Frostbite there were even dedicated server files provided to host unranked servers by yourself. This is btw still an unconfirmed rumor, just fyi. There's the source: http://www.anarchygaming.uk/Forum/battlefield-5/bf1-server-rentals/1 point -

I'm just thinking: you want the game to be a sport? Than apply sport rules: players are punished when they don't follow the rules.1 point -

It's ridiculous to have stamina in a game were you can run endlessly, or jump endlessly. Target harder to hit? Though luck imo. But in the post they make it sound as the crouch-spam highlights problems with the hit boxes, hence my reaction (from past experience). And of course it is an added complexity compared to not having it: it's more code – that will be exploited at some point (like mentioned above spam all the other directions – next step another update that monitors that as well?). Since crouch-spam is something localised to specific locations, then change the metrics and update maps to remove such hiding spots(?).1 point -
im allowed to discuss everything about a posted content except the reaction it may cause? where can i find that rule? maybe there is no such rule and im allowed to write my opinion. it doesnt matter what anybody says about anything if its his personal opinion? i never wanted to control other peoples way of thought and its not bad to be sensitive. i didnt say anything like this but you imply that. dont discredit me, i dont have to leave. i made the first comment here that had to do with the map while this thread was open since friday. thats not a derailing of a discussion. in fact you answered my post which made it a discussion. i didnt deny you or anybody else to post other feedback. i dont need to apologise.1 point

Are you actually serious or just trolling? Roght there is what is wrong with people playing games today. I wish people knowingly taking advantage of these bugs could be VAC banned. At the same time this highlights how shit is the technical base of the game, instead of fixing the hit boxes problem they come up with an additional complexity…1 point -

STATUS ALERT We had a 5on5 competitive test earlier tonight and it went well I'd say. There'll always be minor things that need tweaking but the overall structure is "there" now. Friggin' finally I say. I had a look back at some of the older versions and man, oh man, is some stuff embarrassing. To begin with, we've playtested 25 versions. 25. Jesus christ. And some of my earlier design choices make me cringe now. I think a big part of the problem was that I was trying to balance new stuff with the agency legacy, wanting to stay true to the original map etc. When I abandoned that and just said fuck it, it's a new map, things went a lot smoother. In the name of science, here's a side-by-side overview shot of the first playable version (December 2014) and the current version (September 2016).1 point

A WIP and rough port of "Forlorn" into Black Mesa deatmatch to test the waters; so far so good I had some issues with CSM, as it is coded in-house for BM and behaves slightly different from the one in CSGO. I had to do some researching and technical reading about it and was able to manually tweak some parameters in VRAD and in the env_cascade_light (lightblend, shadow intensity...) to get the optimal lighting/shadows. All is good now.1 point -
