Being able to walk around added a whole new layer of immersion that I find completely lacking on the Oculus. In a Vive, not only your head and hands react as you would expect, so does your body too to some extent. I tried to stand up using the the oculus several times but it just didnt feel right, I could never put my finger on why, but now it all makes sense: even though you can stand up on the oculus, moving your body around only accomplishes screwing up the camera alignment and other nasty effects. Perfect recipe to motion sickness. I think it's pretty obvious that Oculus will add some sort of room scale detection at some point, but its pretty unlikely it will be as good as the Vive one, as cumbersome as it is to setup. Sprony: porn should work just as fine. im sure room scale detection opens up even more possibilities for masturbation -

Tried a Vive from a friend, immediately sold my Oculus and bought one. It's everything I expected from VR -
1 pointYeah, the sensors might be better on the CV1 but you still can't "walk" back and forth can you? If you do that, the sensors interpret your movement as leaning forward or backward, instead of actually moving in an space like it does on the Vive. I might be talking out of my ass here but at least that's the impression that I got. I didn't try the CV1 but from what I know it's only an improvement over the DK2 right? Doesn't add anything new.

Don't be sorry, as I've posted earlier, I prefer Iceland to win, simply for the fact that they play with more passion than our players. I admit that France tried to be better by leaving players like Benzema out, but unfortunately, the younger are a bit too arrogant for my taste I reckon the wisdom of your thoughts ! -
1 pointHi Motanum, I think the jagged edges are a mix of low render settings for speed so we can get new stuff out daily as well as my lack of Photoshop skills. In game they should appear smoother. Thanks for the feedback as always!

On another note: when you make something like the tile shape always use tesselation and crank the scale up so you see exactly what's going on and how your tweaks affect the shape. For your large shapes in the early stage the heightmap is king, gives you a much better impression of what you're doing then looking at a flat surface with just a normal map. -

1 pointHey guys, I just posted a new blog post! It goes through the heatmaps obtained from the reddit playtest last Tuesday. I find it quite interesting and maybe you will too. based on that data I am gonna do many changes to the map to preapre for a final release. http://www.motanum.com/de_pharaoh/week-24-playtest-stats I won't post the screenshots of the heatmaps here, as I think that it is better with the text description and comments. Cheers! Hope you guys enjoy!

On another note i find it useless to draw conclusions about what's best based on age and education levels of voters. Everyone can be an idiot. Had only students in the late 60's voted we would live in Maoist Soviet Europe or something now. Funny enough those are these old people now. -

I haven't worked on the map for over a month... but, I resumed work today...at full speed Couple of fresh screenshots showcasing Mid, and Mid-A upper catwalk connector -
1 pointAfter some experimenting with substance designer and the help of some nice tutorials i've been able to generate a first simple texture of worn and old tiles (simply sticked to a tutorial so nothing could go wrong ^^ ) Creating custom textures for de_oakwood just became so much easier and faster, i realy love this tool!

1 pointIt's nice to follow the progress of this map with the very frequent updates. Here's some feedback: I'm not a fan of these railing posts. They appear kinda "big". I think they would look better if they were a bit thinner and have a more fitting material. Maybe try a coloured version (blueish) instead of shiny metallic. You could give the nuke railing props a try as well. Some of the colours used in the level are a bit too saturated imo. Here are a few examples and some suggestions on how to improve them (pardon my bad PS skills). Not a really obvious thing here, but the awnings in the original seem to be almost pure white, which is very contrasting to the rest of the area. Toning it down just a little bit, would help the overall scene. Improving readability of the text. You also mentioned the compile takes 9 hours and 53 minutes. That's abnormally long. How is it divided into vvis and vrad?
