THERE'S ALWAYS A CRITIC! Pretty much though just taken on my phone, my gf was getting annoyed with me taking photo's of escalators and walls and not her so was hurrying me along. but they're not for textures more for ideas and the feel of what the underground actually looks like.

Thanks, this is the sort of feedback I like to get! I don't notice any issues with visibility when I've been testing it, but I have a pretty nice screen and wasn't thinking about how it could turn out on cheaper/darker screens.
  9. 1 point
It's way too dark and you rely too much on pointlights. Raise both of the light values and recompile. Visibility in such dark maps isn't really good. Imagine a poor guy playing the map on a cheap LCD. He couldn't see shit.

Yeah, it's just me messing around with an idea seeing what I could accomplish. The original theme in mind was supposed to be Dinant, so maybe I could turn this into an actual playable level! Other notes: I didn't know about the Info_lighting part, thanks! Also, some displacements are misaligned because whenever I reload Hammer they keep messing up (gaps appear ETC). I'm still looking for a way around it but the brushes seem to be clean so I'm not sure what causes it. But yeah, if anybody is interested in helping me turn this into an actual map, hit me up. CS:GO already has default assets provided to make a map as such, so this wouldn't be a problem.

WIP in WIP, post your level screenshots!

Nice. Is this part of a playable level or just some "artistic doodling"? The corner trim needs an info_lighting; the origin is buried in the underneath brush, hence the black tint. The slanted wall has open seams (unaligned displacements?). You probably noticed them and it's all WIP, so all is good

    Until Dawn

Why there is no threat for this game!? I know it went under radar for most of us (bad timing of launch - it should be out around Halloween) and at first when I saw this game, I was like, bleh next bad horror game, just looking good (visuals). But then the reviews started to drop down, and the reviews were super good. So last Saturday I bought it for my GF to play (gameplay wise it's smth like Heavy rain, QTE ect, but still it doesn't ruin the game). After 30 min she gave me the controller, cause the shit was to intense for her. So I finished the game, she was watching it like a really good horror movie! The story is a little bit cliche at some point, but still fun as fuck! I love this game! The atmosphere is thick and creepy. The visuals are the best you can see up to date, look at those faces man, sick! Environments looks just gougers, many times i thought it was just photo! Many great ideas like the butterfly effect, like the doc talking with you and many more. Every choice you make will make a difference, that's why now, even that I know the story ect, I think want to replay the game and try to keep everyone alive till the dawn - don't know if that's possible tho. Anyways, If you're into horror games, I strongly recommend to pick it up! It's like 8-10h of game play, but it's worth the money.

    What have you watched recently?

Don't remember if I said already I've seen Mad Max and that I feel very stupid not watching before, great miss at the cinema (but trailers weren't that enticing). Anyway day before yesterday discovered a behind the scenes about the cars, and now discovered the channel owner has the whole suite… I've created a playlist

    [CS:GO] Incursion (formerly 'de_docks')

I mean pretty much the whole interior, to be honest. See red highlight below: As a T you can't push any of the bottlenecks without constantly worrying that you're about to be flanked, because there are so many passages and corners to check all the time. It's fine to have some element of fear if there's sufficient reward at the end, but the player at least has to feel like they can anticipate likely maneuvers, strats, rotates etc. so that they can form a coherent plan of attack. If I were you I would turn most of these corridors in to one large atrium with plenty of cover, so at least players can push in one direction and use nades to close off certain threats from a distance. Oh and I forgot to say, I hope the name de_docks is temporary because it's second only to de_warehouse in boringosity.

What's going on with your life?

Thanks guys~~ BTW, my mother and sister impromptu drove down to the south of Denmark yesterday with water and food to give it to refugees (both to help and to do have something else to think about), there was a lot of other people doing the same thing. When the danish government is acting like asshats then it's nice to see that people stand up and help.
