  1. For those who havent played DeusEx HR, it's at 5 miserable dollars for a hell of a stellar game, so get your thumbs out of your asses and go play it.

  2. Hey Everyone! I'm not the most frequent member here on Mapcore, (long serving interlopers.net/recent Forza Horizon dev), but I do value the Mapcore community and it's audience in wanting to share with you a recently completed project Taychin Dunnvatanchit (Kremator666) & the CANVAS/CITY 17:EP1 teams have been working on! BLACK SNOW is a singleplayer horror adventure mod with an emphasis on atmosphere and strong inklings to The Thing movies. You play John Matsuda, an IT Technician that is part of the Prometheus assessment team sent to investigate communication silence at a research station in Greenland. Naturally, nothing is what it seems. *MODDB download is still awaiting authorization so I had to upload to mediafire for now. MEDIAFIRE MODDB PAGE BLACK SNOW BLOG

  3. i bought both alan wake and american nightmare, personally i didn't find them fun (as you said, lack of gameplay variation and pacing), but the story is sort of interesting. american nightmare is pretty much the same, except you get to do sisyphean work by traversing the same spaces multiple times, and them not getting more interesting. midwest alan wake > new england alan wake though, art direction wise.

    The random model thread!

thx, it's more going to be like a small town or fortress in the middle of the desert. Atm I'm trying to create a basic set of modules, with which I'll build the env from there on.

Looks so sweet! I actually thought it was just a concept art you'd posted when I scrolled past. Great composition. Are you going for quite a sparse desert environment with the odd structure like this punctuating it, or is this going to become something much more full of buildings?

  6. Just make sure to quit and uninstall the game right before the ending.

  7. We had some issues with Moddb taking a silly amount of time to authorise the zip file. v1.01 should be easily downloadable now, it's also on Desura already as the mod is doing quite well it seems! (no.1 on moddb all of today .) Please do let me know of any bugs you encounter or feedback to smooth over the cracks in a next patch. it also goes a long way to helping us valuable gain data for our planned commercial project which has some links with this mod. This is sort of a dry run if you will to get an idea of if we are going in the right direction.

    Hitman: Absolution

Aye, couple of things brewing at the moment, one of them being a new IP.

Unfortunate that you can't use normal maps and proper lighting on these meshes, but still looks cool. I had some time to spend on stuff for my udk scene:

    Hitman: Absolution

been playing this a little and it's quite enjoyable but the lack of quick-saving is a real problem, you can't experiment at all, and you end up doing the same boring stuff dozens of times trying to figure out the best way to approach something. the costume/disguise stuff isn't a big deal and actually works pretty well in my opinion - the biggest issue is the instinct, it doesn't seem to work sometimes (when trying to blend in), and you end up in the 2spooky mode and suddenly everybody is hostile and the SWAT are on their way. but maybe i just need to practice a little bit more... glacier 2 is an interesting engine, i have everything maxed out and it doesn't look OMG JAW DROPPING, but everything is quite high-res, and there's some nice attention to detail, but there's a few things like the lens flares that simply look ridiculous when you can't see 47's head because of the giant flares bouncing off his bald dome. overall though it's enjoyable, nice to look at, feels very free and open without being completely ridiculous and confusing, the crowds are great, the visuals are actually AAA, the engine runs smoothly and there's no annoying bugs or awkward UI annoyances. It's very polished, very good. So far I've played a couple of hours and can't give it a "score" but it's definitely leaning towards a 90+ Good work IO!
