	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I’m working on a CS2 training project similar in spirit to Yprac, and I’m looking for someone who can help me build a <strong>complete training experience</strong> for players.
</p>

<hr />
<h3>
	<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@14.0.2/assets/72x72/1f9e0.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="🧠"> The idea:
</h3>

<p>
	A multi-map training system focused on:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		<p>
			Smoke and utility practice
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Prefire and angle memorization
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Crosshair placement guides
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Recoil and aim training
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Jump spot tutorials
		</p>
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	All modes are presented through an in-map menu/interface.
</p>

<hr />
<h3>
	<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@14.0.2/assets/72x72/1f6e0.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="🛠️"> What I’m looking for:
</h3>

<ul>
	<li>
		<p>
			A mapper skilled with Hammer and Source 2 tools
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			A developer (if needed) to help integrate logic systems, menu functionality, or external delivery via loader
		</p>
	</li>
</ul>

<hr />
<p>
	I’m planning to release a demo version publicly, and deliver the full version through a separate system. If you’ve worked on something similar or are interested in collaborating on this kind of tool — I’d love to connect.
</p>

<p>
	Feel free to reply here or DM me.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks!

	As much as I liked level design over the years, I can tell that stuff has changed around. It seems to me that nowadays it matters more how the map looks like rather than how it plays, back in the day you could build a basic map and find tons of players to playtest and improve it, but today you spend at least 2 months on map and everyone has an opinion about "why that thing isn't good on it", like I'm not saying I'm the best mapper or anything, but when I playtested my Source maps everybody had to criticize stuff and not in the constructive way.
</p>

<p>
	I have been featured on the frontpage of GameBanana and the Steam Workshop, I have a top MOD on ModDB, I have been called for an interview by a big gaming company and I enjoy games that take skill like Team Fortress Classic, I once tried Fortnite and killed 10+ opponents before getting killed.
</p>

<p>
	Anyways I hope that will change in CS2, aside from the useless skins and abandoning CS 1.6 support (you can't find a decent server there anymore)... This map is your classic 1hp with a twist: it has a grenade in the middle so you can blow up the entire opposing team!

	Hi, I needed help inserting a script into a map, I've been playing around with a test map. But I can't get the script to load in the game. I've already researched on several sides. I've been trying to load a .nut file and I saw somewhere that in source 2 .nut files are not compatible.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	I needed help to try to understand which folder I have to insert the file into, what type of file it has to be, and with which entity.
</p>

<p>
	Thank you for your help.

	The CS2 Workshop Tools are out for a while now, but there are still many questions (at least I have a lot).<br />
	Unfortunately there is no proper documentation yet as it used to be for <a href="https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SDK_Docs" rel="external nofollow">Source1</a>.<br />
	Yes, there are some Youtube tutorials, but mostly about very basic things, not so much about specific questions.<br />
	Also this forum is dead atm, so I'm having trouble to get the answers I need.<br />
	Yeah, Mapcore is on Discord now, but imo it sucks. It's nice for those who want some daily conversation about mapping. But interesting questions and answers get lost quickly between trash talk, people posting their show off screenshots and whatever in one infinite topic.<br />
	So I decided to collect some Q&amp;A here and add links to the answers.<br />
	Feel free to ask questions or give answers if you want to... (I will add all of your questions and links to answers to the <span style="color:#3498db;"><strong>following post</strong></span>!)
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#27ae60;">green</span>: proper answer<br />
	<span style="color:#f39c12;">orange</span>: partial answer or idea<br />
	<span style="color:#c0392b;">red</span>: not answered yet

	Hi, I have been studying interior design for a year, and from this year I also plan to study architecture. Due to my great passion for the game Counter Strike, I wanted to try my hand at creating maps, so happened that I am creating a network of Counter-Strike servers with my friends. I decided to start by creating AM maps for the Multi1v1 server, of course all maps are available in the workshop and can be downloaded.<br />
	I would like to know your opinions and hear some valuable advice on what to add, what to change, what to remove to make the map even better.<br />
	Maps are now fully playable, but this is just an outline. Work on the final version is still in progress!<br />

	<strong>Burst</strong> is a Counter-Strike 2 defuse map I've been working on, independently in my free time.
</p>

<p>
	Anyone can play the map for free via the link below, or by searching "Burst" in the Counter-Strike 2 Steam Workshop.

	I have an error with lightning and/or cubemaps. When I do transition at one point of a map to another, suddenly models turn black. Players, weapons, etc. As seen in screenshot below.
</p>

<p>
	Static props and world geometry are not affected by this error. I've tried to rebuild map with different setting, deleting and recreating problematic cubemap/light, different type of light (static, stationary, dynamic). Error persist. And the error is only at this one spot on the map.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Second problem is with compiling maps. I have Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB DDR4 and Radeon RX 6800XT 16GB. And everything was fine until some late april or early may update. Since then I have VRAD portion of compiling errors and crashes. But sometimes compiling finishes fine.
</p>

<p>
	Error line is always same: "'ERROR! VK call failed! result = VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST ( vkQueueSubmit( pQueue, 1, &amp;submitInfo, pFence-&gt;Get() ) )". From there error loops or CS2 crashes.
</p>

<p>
	I've been trying with reinstalling steam, CS2, newer or older driver (with factory reset or DDU program), also tried to verify integrity of cache. Nothing helps. I've tried on friend computer, with RTX 3060, and compiling went fine.
</p>

<p>
	Before typing some comment "Just buy Nvidia RTX card", just know that in my country Nvidia cards are overpriced. Basic RTX 4070 is 650-700$ or more, RTX 4060 starts around 500-550$. Even second hand ones are expensive. RTX 3070 are 350-400$, and 3080 450$ and up. And salaries are low.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Anyone has any idea how to fix this?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks.

	Hi, I noticed that my water is reflecting a skybox city which doesnt seem to appear in the normal sky, and even if it would be, it should be behind walls<br />

<p>
	<br />
	Anyone knows how to get rid of it?<br />
	<br />
	I have an env_sky with materials/skybox/sky_de_dust2vmat.vmat, I've tried other skies such as anubis / mirage, with the same problem.<br />
	I even have a 3d skybox with nothing in it.

	This is incredibly cruel, how Valve literally ruined mapping for thousands of mappers, who dont even have some potato computer, they just don't have fancy RTX-feature.
</p>

<p>
	You have already done lightmap feature without RTX, in Half-Life Alyx Workshop Tools, then why you ruined it in CS2 Workshop Tools!? I mean, you could just literally leave two options for light compiling, one for non-RTX cards, with lower light quality, and one for RTX-cards, with higher light quality. Some feature like "Fast/Full Compile" that you already have.
</p>

<p>
	I bet, many CS:GO mappers now have this problem too, they just can't continue make their own maps, because they don't have RTX-card.
</p>

<p>
	Please, FIX IT!!!

My 3d skybox is getting some really funky lights from inside my map </span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">(it comes from <em>light</em></span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;"><em>_omni2</em> entities</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">)</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">. If I start the map from editor</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">, everything looks fine</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">, but when I run the map on local server</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">, or upload it to Steam Workshop</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">, the problem arises</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">. You can see the problem in the attached picture</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">. The houses behind the fence are part of 3d skybox</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">, and should not be lit brightly like that</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">. That light is coming from the lights inside the map</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">.</span></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">The lights are very bright and moving all over the place as the player moves, so the map is unplayable 'til I find the fix.</span></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">I replicated the problem in a simple template map. The result is seen in a video clip, which is behind a discord link here: <a href="https://discord.com/channels/235139177715335169/570728171566006288/1185637689194717184" rel="external nofollow">https://discord.com/channels/235139177715335169/570728171566006288/1185637689194717184</a></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">I'm getting a bit frustrated with this annoying problem. <span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">Any help</span><span style="background-color:rgb(49,51,56);border:0px;color:rgb(219,222,225);padding:0px;text-align:left;vertical-align:baseline;">/suggestions are <strong>greatly</strong> appreciated.</span></span>

	Hey everyone! Just wanted to show off my CS2 wingman map "Waterfront", that I've been working on for the past few months. I plan to continuously fix areas and improve on the graphics, so I am always looking for any feedback!

	I recently released <a href="https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3070923343" rel="external nofollow">fy_pool_day for CS2</a>.
</p>

<p>
	For it, I made a few custom props of inflatable toys that the players can move around and deflate <span><span>:</span></span>
</p>

<div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo" contenteditable="false">
	<div>
		<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/blonMF0F_Nk?feature=oembed" title="CS2 Pool Day - Breakable inflatable toys" width="200"></iframe>
	</div>
</div>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've been asked a lot how I did this, so I made an in depth tutorial for it.
</p>

<div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo" contenteditable="false">
	<div>
		<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/XgIZSHaRQCM?feature=oembed" title="Source 2 Tutorial - Make a custom inflatable toy" width="200"></iframe>
	</div>
</div>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It's not just about the Ragdoll part, it covers everything from the cloth simulation used to create the high poly mesh to the end result.
</p>

<p>
	It's a long video so don't hesitate to use the chapters if you're already familiar with the concepts shown in the video.

	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	I'm interested in creating some assets for Source 2 and am wondering what the difference is between blend materials in Source 2 and traditional vertex blending textures by height? It seems with the default shader in the material editor that you can only blend two different textures together, when in other engines / 3D packages you could use every RGB channel as well as multiple UV sets. Is there a way I can create a shader that will let me paint multiple textures onto a model? Just having two textures for blending seems a little limiting.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks.
