Crytek - Level Art, Lighting and FX positions

Hey there guys,

I am currently trying to find a good Level Artist to integrate the team for the next project, we are also in need of a Lighting Artist, and Particle Artist.

You will be working next to the Art Director and you’ll be working with the small group in charge of the overall artistic look of the game. That being said, I’m looking for people with experience in these fields or that can provide me with good samples of work and expertise.

Level Artist:

Level Artists biggest forte are good eye for detail and composition, and knowing the tech well to achieve this.

Knowing a 3D package is a huge plus (Especially 3DsMax) and basic texturing skills. (Photoshop)

You will be art passing levels, therefore good artistic knowledge and practice (such as color theory and lighting) is important.

Crytek Frankfurt is looking for a talented Level Artist to help us bring our environments to life using the CryENGINE® 3 and Sandbox editor for a next generation FPS experience. The ideal candidate for this position should have strong artistic and aesthetical sense as you will be responsible for the entire look and feel of the levels and acting as hub between art and level design.

Requirements:


  • [*:3j4xe7up]2 years of experience or 1 shipped AAA title on next gen consoles (PS3, Xbox 360).
    [*:3j4xe7up]Collaborate with Environment Artists and Level Designers to create the best looking environments possible.
    [*:3j4xe7up]Excellent communication and organizational skills, able to easily present ideas within the team.
    [*:3j4xe7up]The ability to self manage your own time and work in an open-structured, cross-discipline-team environment.

Preferences:

    [*:3j4xe7up]Clear understanding of artistic composition (silhouette, lighting, color theory, etc).
    [*:3j4xe7up]Clean understanding that art complements design and is able to work and embrace that fact.
    [*:3j4xe7up]Able to effectively collaborate with fellow artists, designers and programmers.
    [*:3j4xe7up]Applicants should demonstrate comfort with a broad variety of environments and themes.
    [*:3j4xe7up]Knowledge with 3ds Max and Photoshop, and exporting pipeline between 3DsMax and the Engine.

Responsibilities:


  • [*:3j4xe7up]Create and maintain cutting edge levels while keeping an eye on colors, light, composition and performance.
    [*:3j4xe7up]Beautify and detail the environments using Sandbox editor and pushing the tech to its limits
    [*:3j4xe7up]Work within technical constraints and still deliver top-quality beautiful environments.
    [*:3j4xe7up]Willing to relocate to Frankfurt am Main in Germany.
    [*:3j4xe7up]Report to: Art Director / Senior Level Artist.
