rosk
So I finally got a new mouse to replace my 2007 Microsoft one because the primary click broke. I got the Rival 100 by Steelseries, its quite nice. I also got a mousepad with it, the left side is taking forever to flatten :/
DrywallDreams
I also got a rival 100 to replace my rival 300 while I RMA it (then it'll be my laptop mouse). It's impressively tiny. I can't properly grip the thing

Minos
Tried a Vive from a friend, immediately sold my Oculus and bought one. It's everything I expected from VR Sprony, blackdog, Mazy and 3 others

Right now the controllers that are coming out for the Oculus seem to be the best controller for this kind of device

Minos
Being able to walk around added a whole new layer of immersion that I find completely lacking on the Oculus. In a Vive, not only your head and hands react as you would expect, so does your body too to some extent. I tried to stand up using the the oculus several times but it just didnt feel right, I could never put my finger on why, but now it all makes sense: even though you can stand up on the oculus, moving your body around only accomplishes screwing up the camera alignment and other nasty effects. Perfect recipe to motion sickness. I think it's pretty obvious that Oculus will add some sort of room scale detection at some point, but its pretty unlikely it will be as good as the Vive one, as cumbersome as it is to setup. Sprony: porn should work just as fine. im sure room scale detection opens up even more possibilities for masturbation -HP-, blackdog, General Vivi and 1 other
Buddy
@MinosDid you try CV1 or only DK2 though? I found standing up in CV1 just as good as VIVE with the exception of limited space. I like my vive more but ergonomics of CV1 are nicer (lighter, better straps). Edited June 29, 2016 by Buddy
blackdog
Thanks to clearing it up Minos. Was pretty hyped and considering the VR before we started to know prices, know real computer req. and… see what you can play (which is very poor atm). Anyway, even if I only tried one game on dev kit, oculus always gave me the idea that it was just adding motion tracking to the camera*, that games would be the same experience (sitting down), on the other hand looks more ergonomic. Surely things will improve quickly, right now I wouldn't invest on this gadgets unless I was developing something for it. *A lot of this I always thought could have been implemented already just by leveraging webcams, which are widespread. Adding peek behind a corner that way I think would go a long way without really costing much

Yeah, the sensors might be better on the CV1 but you still can't "walk" back and forth can you? If you do that, the sensors interpret your movement as leaning forward or backward, instead of actually moving in an space like it does on the Vive. I might be talking out of my ass here but at least that's the impression that I got. I didn't try the CV1 but from what I know it's only an improvement over the DK2 right? Doesn't add anything new. -HP-

No, you're fully positionally tracked, so you can walk around within the tracking camera's FOV. Same as Vive but at smaller scale Edited June 30, 2016 by Buddy
